This is a very nice hotel. Friendly straff. Nice room - very good beds. Very good location. Near Canal Street and only a few minutes walking from Bourbon Street.
Breakfast available both as a la carte and as buffet.

We were so pleased with our choice of this hotel. Purposely picked a hotel outside, but close to, the French Quarter. Easy to walk everywhere, and cabs were also readily available. We had a comfortable room with a balcony (although too cold to enjoy it) and the bed was so nice - hard to get up and out to explore!
Dominque at the front desk was so sweet. Remembered my name the whole visit and always greeted us. She had the hotel send us a welcome 30th Anniversary present with wine, fruit, chocolates and the sweetest note.
Toiletries and amenities were very nice and ample. Room always cleaned up on time. Always nice to have a safe in the room also.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to NOLA. Everyone very friendly - and there was complimentary wine from 5-7. What more could you want?

Room Tip: Right across the street is Luke - and from 3-6PM there is half price wine and cocktails and Happy Ho...

I am a pseudo-local and love visiting Nola. I have stayed at the Intercon the last 4 times I have visited the city. The location on St. Charles is within walking distance of the Quarter but a comfortable distance from the bourbon st crowd. The staff has always been accommodating and the recent renovations have added an upscale and modern feel. The rooms are clean, beds are comfy and there are even balcony rooms available. If you're look for an upscale experience with refined staff in area that's in the city but not in the middle of a lot of commotion, this is the spot!

Dear Abroaduz,

Thank you very much for the 5 star review of our property. We are so thankful that you recognize our well trained staff and our unique location. We are close enough to walk to the French Quarter yet far enough to be considered a quiet location. We hope that you will tell your friends and family. We will welcome you back for that 5th time and many more times in the future.

The hotel, itself, is lovely. It is located in a very good area, close enough to walk to the French Quarter and not too far from the Convention Center. The rooms are clean, have a safe and a coffee pot. No complaints there. Why not a 5? The room was a standard room in our estimation, yet the cost per night was rather on the high side. The room had only 1 chair, making it difficult to work together (we were attending a convention) and the internet included in the rate was SLOW... that is, unless you want to pay another $13 - $20 per night for faster speed. A bottle of water $7. Two "house" cabernets at the bar were $44. Staff was pleasant, particularly Hank who helped us with our luggage. Some visiters have complained about street noise. We did not have that problem. If it had not been for all the little "extras" that could be added to the hotel stay, another star would have been given.

Room Tip: We had to request a change of rooms because we were right next to an elevator. There was no problem...

Dear Secatogue,

Thank you for your review of the hotel. We appreciate your feedback, especially mentioning our team member Hank. We are constantly shopping our pricing to ensure that we are competitive with all of the luxury hotels in our neighborhood and market. Both of our bar's house Cabernet are moderately priced between $8-9. Pete's serves a very nice domestic out of Modesto and Trenasse's house is a Chilean Cab. As you know, bandwidth is a finite resource that is given away free in order for any guest to check their email. We have a variety of options and price points for all guests to choose from.

We hope that you will return soon.

We had travelled extensively, but never visited New Orleans. We debated staying in the French Quarter but chose the Intercontinental based on excellent reviews. We stayed two nights a few days after Mardi Gras, and it was the perfect choice. With the exception of the viewing stands still on the street, you would never gave guessed there was a huge party and parade two days earlier. Every aspect of the facility was beautiful--from the lobby to the expansive exercise center to our bathroom. The staff was universally professional, welcoming and helpful: the bellman, valet parking, concierge, and especially Anthony and Salman at the registration desk. Our room was spacious with new, beautiful furnishings, a most comfy king bed, lovely linens and a great view of the city. We really appreciated the easy-to-use safe, robe, separate bath/toilet and sink areas, and Keurig coffee maker. I repeatedly told my husband I felt constantly pampered--even the toiletries were generous and top-of-the-line. The location is perfect--away from the constant hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street but only a 3-block walk away. Also an easy walk to all the famous sight-seeing spots in the French Quarter, the mule-drawn carriages, tourist bus tours, cable car stops and the World War II Museum (a MUST see!). Dozens of wonderful restaurants within a few blocks, and we also highly recommend the Hotel restaurant (Trenasse). Excellent food at reasonable prices and terrific service. We thought this long-overdue trip to the Big Easy would be a "one and done," but we now agree a few nights at this hotel must be an annual event for at least the next few years.

Dear sue b,

Thank you very much for the 5 star review of our property. Yes Mardi Gras is an exciting time to be in New Orleans. It normally takes us a couple of days to finish picking up after the fun. We are happy that you were able to enjoy Trenasse while you were here. It's rustic Louisiana menu sets it apart from many of the fine restaurants here in New Orleans. We are proud to have them as our partner.

Please tell your friends about us. We hope to welcome you back many times in the future.

The service was outstanding from the bellman, to the front desk to housekeeping to the food and beverage team. They all went out of their way to share a smile, greet with you with an uplifting hello and enjoy you were taken care of. They ensured I had a fabulous conference and great stay.

The hotel itself was centrally located to be close to everything in town. The rooms were over-sized and extremely clean! I wish I could have taken the comfortable bed home with me! The food in the lounge was top-notch, along with the drinks!

The hotel made my conference and my stay away from home truly amazing! I would recommend this property to EVERYONE!

The Intercontinental is located conveniently in the middle of the CBD & The French Quarter. Most of the things people come to NOLA are within walking distance. If you need to go further, the trolley system is excellent and the St. Charles line runs right in front of the hotel. As for the street noise, it is a major city so you're going to have that anywhere. Enjoy the wonderful service provided by a great staff.
