“A Really Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

OK, so I was going to New Orleans with my wife for the first time in 20 years. I was determined to skip the Marriott's and Hilton's and stay at a more 'local' hotel. I scanned through Trip Advisor and found the Grenoble House. It was located in the French Quarter and a short cab ride to the World War Two museum and other attractions. There were good restaurants close and within walking distance. My mission for this trip was to enjoy New Orleans, especially the people, the sites and of course the food. The Grenoble house was a great base to work out of.
The staff were very accommodating and answered all of our questions. Parking was one block away and very easy to walk to. When I asked where I could find a good Shrimp Etoufee, they gave me the names of two places, both of which had excellent food.
The rooms we stayed in had a full kitchen, living room, and 1/2 bath downstairs. Upstairs was two bedrooms and a full bath. Each bedroom had two beds, and I really believe that 8 to 10 people could stay in this room comfortably. In addition, there was a charming courtyard very tastefully decorated with plant and palm trees.
When I go back to New Orleans, this will be my first choice of hotels.

Room Tip: Let them know how many people will be staying and they will steer you to the correct room.

This is a great place to stay, particularly if you want to be near the FQ. We had a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen. The restoration was beautifully done and the furniture was a great match. Appliances are new, bed very comfortable and noise was not an issue during our stay. The room does come with a coffee maker, coffee, cups and was properly stocked with red Solo cups. The pool and courtyard area were well maintained. This is great for both short and long stays.

The Grenoble House does not provide parking so you will have to make arrangements with one of the parking garages, several within short walking distance

Lovely friendly hotel conveniently situated for all the action of the French Quarter yet far enough away to have a peaceful night's sleep. Two storey apartment with fully equipped kitchen and lounge and huge bedroom and bathroom reached by a spiral staircase. Friendly staff who keep the front door secure and always on hand to give help and advice.

The continental breakfast is great eaten in the patio garden area and a number of guests made good use of the pool and hoy tub.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the patio area are quieter anf if you are willing to carry luggage up steps the ro...

I recently stayed here with my husband and we loved the old furniture and feel of the whole place.
The staff was very kind to us and we felt comfortable and relaxed during our entire stay.
We will be back!

We've stayed here several times and it's an awesome place. We were able to use the pool, which was so relaxing. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. Our room was clean and beds comfortable. The rolls and coffee are ready first thing in the morning and are delicious. The only issue is some noise from the street. We get a 2 br/ba and the bedroom windows face Dauphine and you sometimes hear party goers thru the early morning hours. We purchased ear plugs which pretty much solved the issue. That's the only issue we've ever had.

Room Tip: Rooms with windows facing Dauphine are very loud. Would ask for rooms towards the back of the prope...

Excellent location, right in the heart of the French Quarter.
The staff was super friendly, helpful and went out of the way to make us feel welcome.
Our room turned out to be a two level suite, with beautiful antique furniture.
I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in New Orleans, and is looking for a bit of character in a place they stay. Grenoble House is worlds away from your character-less chain hotels.

My husband found GH on Priceline when booking a last-minute weekend getaway to NOLA. Let me tell you, he did well. This place is so charming, has an amazing staff, and feels like home. It's it an old building on Dauphine St. but the rooms are up-to-date with small kitchens, comfortable beds, flat-screen tv's, central air/heat and beautiful furnishings. The refrigerator is full-size, and was great for keeping snacks and beverages on-hand, as well as some medication I needed to keep cold. It's conveniently located near Royal and Bourbon St, so anywhere we wanted to go was just a short walk. They do require you to leave your room key at the front desk if you leave, which at first we thought was strange, but after coming/going so much it actually is quite convenient (they have someone at the front desk 24/7), plus it lets the staff know when you are out of your room so that it can be cleaned with no disturbance. They also offer the typical continental breakfast of pastries, fruit, coffee and juice but we opted to take advantage of the variety of morning dining options around the French Quarter. My only complaint (and I stress ONLY) is that our room (206) faced Dauphine and the windows aren't sound proof, so we heard some of the late-night life taking place outside. Luckily I brought earplugs, and my husband sleeps like the dead, so we slept just fine. We will be back, thank you Grenoble House!
