“Grenoble House Getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

We (two couples) stayed in the two bedroom suite at the Grenoble House in NOLA. It's not really a suite, but a town house! It had a huge living room area downstairs, along with an eat in kitchen and a half bathroom. Upstairs, there was a full size bathroom and two bedrooms, each with two full size beds. The entire place was spacious, beautifully decorated and clean. The only downfall was the stairs. Since we were on the third floor, there was approximately 70 stairs to get to the bedroom floor! However, the super friendly and accommodating staff were more than willing to tote our luggage up for us. The location is convenient and secure. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Bedrooms facing the back courtyard are quieter.

We booked for the jazz fest, which can be a hard time to fine places in the french quarter. The owner and the great woman behind the counter are very pleasant. Our room was on the bottom floor on the way to the pool, since the pool was not heated there was not a lot of traffic, but I am sure that will change when the pool is occupied. Our room had problems with the water heater and it leaked throughout our stay. This is a pricey place and We wish we had a discount for the inconvenience, but that was not to be. There is not much to say about the morning coffee or danish, you are better off traveling a short distance to get better food. They worked hard to get the place up and running, so we will see how a year under their belt benefits the place. The location of the hotel is well situated to very good restaurants and within walking distance to any place in the quarter.

Room Tip: There are good rooms upstairs but getting your luggage up the narrow steps can be a challenge and yo...

This little boutique hotel was a great find and deal. As an old converted courtyard home each room is apartment size with a full kitchen. There are only seventeen rooms and the front desk knows everyone. You must be buzzed in and retrieve your key from the front desk. It's a real key not a magnetic strip card. Nicely nostalgic. Our room was a one bedroom with a nice living room, full kitchen, decent sized bathroom and nice size bedroom. The only negative was that there was no dresser in the bedroom so my husband used a chest in the living room to unpack. The rooms were clean, the bed brand new and comfy. Our daughter was in a studio room and also a nice size. The location was perfect. I'd definitely would stay there again.

Room Tip: The room away from the street are the quietest.

Just re-opened after extensive damage from Hurricane Katrina. We got engaged here 15 years ago. Recreated the same French Quarter town home feel, with great courtyard and pool area inside the walls. Our "usual" room was exactly as we remembered, except for new furnishings. New furniture and art are still being added. Same owners and staff offer great advice on restaurants and things to do and make the place feel more like visiting a home than a hotel. We look forward to coming back.

Room Tip: Talk to the staff to pick out the room that best fits your needs. There is a bit of variety, dependi...

I found Grenoble House mentioned briefly in a guide book after looking around for reasonably priced places in New Orleans, and when I called to ask about it it seemed too good to be true, but I thought I'd give it a shot. The results were fantastic. Location was great, just one block off of Bourbon Street, but on a block with no bars/restaurants so it's reasonably quiet. The rooms were fabulous. One had a neat little spiral staircase, the other had very spacious living room, dining room. Excellent furnishings, elegantly decorated. Cute little courtyard. My teenage son said it was easily the best hotel he's ever been in, and I agree. The staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful, eager to please. It was absolutely a great experience, and a super value. I'd definitely go back.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms are quieter than those facing the street.

Recently re-opened post-Katrina. Tastefully decorated with accomodating round the clock service. Loved our room overlooking the courtyard. Close to Bourbon Street yet very quiet. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful split-level rooms, full modern kitchen, tasteful livingroom. Amazingly quiet for so close to Burbon Street. Personal and around-the-clock service. Right next door to an amazing (Louisiana) bistro. We look forward to our next stay.

Room Tip: Ground floor.
