“Wow. Could not have been better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2011

We stayed her for my birthday at the end of October 2010. My husband surprised me with a suite for 4 nights. The suite was huge. The bathroom was the size of a small hotel room. This hotel is fabulous. Very classic but with all the new upgrades. Service was fantastic too. I could not have had a better trip. It was so nice being out and about and all day and then being able to come home to this at night. You won't be disappointed here! When you walk in you know you are in a Grand hotel with lots of history.

We stayed over the Christmas holidays because of extenuating circumstances. Many times we needed to ask the hotel staff for special acomodations and every request was met and the response exceeded our expectations. Besides the staff going above and beyond, the hotel rooms and lobby were nothing short of exquisite. All of the hotel restaurants were above expectations and we had no reason to go anywhere else to eat, this is a big compliment as I was born and raised in New Orleans and I know good New Orleans cooking. Domenica's was the best Italian food, the Christmas Buffet was the best, and the cafe had better beignets than Cafe Du Monde!

This is a beautiful hotel, that brings you back in time. The granduer and elegance is simply breathtaking. I surprized my husband with a long weekend birthday getaway
and chose this hotel because of the history and beauty. The Roosevelt receives an "A+"
for hospitality and customer service. The conceirge went over and above making our first visit to New Orleans special and over the top. From the limo ride from the Airport, to the couples massage at the Guerlain Spa, to the turn down service at night and making tour arrangements, this hotel is top notch. The Sazarac Bar is an awesome place to meet and have night caps. If you don't stay at this hotel while in New Orleans make sure you visit just to walk through the lobby and inhale the beauty and history, it will be worth it.

This is a fantastic hotel right off Canal Street in New Orleans. One block from the French Quarter and 3 blocks from Harrah's Casino. The lobby is inspired and the hotel bar is one of the nicest in the city.

The room we booked was exceptionally clean. Service was great.

No complaints at all.

After pouring over hotel reviews, I chose The Rooselvelt because of the recent refurbishment of the rooms. I was certainly not disappointed.
My husband and I stayed in a luxury suite. There was a beautiful, large sitting room with all of the expected amenities and more. The bedroom was gorgeous and comfy. The bathroom was HUGE and absolutely LUX with a soaking tub, large shower with multiple shower heads, and floor to ceiling mirror for dressing.
No view from our room (I am normally all about the view) but we didn't miss it.
As far as location goes, this hotel wins as well. A short walk to everything but far enough away for quiet night in bed.
The only small complaint that I have is with coffee shop. Wonderful cappuccino but not service with a smile.
Overall, a beautiful hotel that I would choose again.

While this hotel is off the beaten path (aka not on Bourbon Street), be prepared for rowdy parties, which can keep you up at night if your main objective is to get rest and relaxation. My husband and I were rudely awakened in the early morning to noise from the presidential suite ... Our room was right below it and we soon discovered the rooms aren't sound proofed. Luckily, the hotel staff was able to move us to a different room. Half asleep, we changed rooms during the middle of the night and pleasantly discovered that we had been upgraded to an even larger suite --- complete with a larger sitting room and beautiful bathroom with a claw foot tub (our first suite was also very well appointed; however, smaller compared to our "new" room). It also had a better view, overlooking the pool.

Hotel is very beautiful --- Hilton did a great job with the renovations. Property features a great bar --- the Sazerac --- and restaurant --- Domenica (a John Besh restaurant). It's walking distance to pretty much everything, including the Superdome (in case you're down there for a Saints game). Rooms were very well appointed and clean and featured nice amenities. The hotel also features a lovely gift shop --- the perfect spot for picking up a present for a friend or family member.

Parking at the hotel can be pretty steep. If in town with a rental car, you may want to consider parking at the garage just before the hotel. It was half the price ($20 versus $40) and they would allow you to come and go as you pleased if you paid ahead.

This hotel has rooms that are as advertised. Fantastic, clean, upscale rooms. Me and my 4 friends got there for our"early check-in" we were promised. HA! We waited in the crowded, hectic lobby for 2 plus hours for a room. Horrible experience. I FINALLY found one girl who was helpful and she refunded my parking fee (after some convincing). Save your money....stay somewhere else.
