Traveling with teenage grandsons to give them an introduction to the Gulf Coast, we began at the Dauphine, in the middle of the French Quarter. New Orleans is a high energy place; so being able to walk to most restaurants, music and pieces of history minimized stress. The historic hotel was refreshingly comfortable and the boys loved the salt-water pool. The full continental breakfasts
launched us strongly each morning to visit the city and more. We enjoyed our own balconies over Dauphine Street only one block away from Bourbon Street. A quick walk to the waterfront allowed us access to a City Tour and Swamp Tour to orient and entertain the entire family outside the French Quarter.
