My friends and I headed to NOLA to celebrate my birthday and we stayed at The Dauphine. It is a great hotel. The room we had (310) was comfortable for me and two other girls. Some of the rooms are smaller. We were originally given room 308 and my friends room 309 which was across the hall. Our room was small. We were surprised to see that my friends' room was larger. We went downstairs and asked to be switched to a room the same size as 309 and we were given 310. So much better for 3 girls. The room was clean and comfortable. Yes, the bathroom could use a towel holder. Great location, just two blocks from Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. I would recommend this hotel to anyone headed to Nola.

My husband and I stayed here for a quick romantic getaway. I didn't want to stay at a chain hotel this time I wanted something with New Orleans character. The Dauphine def has the character and its in a great location. Easy walk to Bourbon and French Quarter. But just far enough off beaten path to be quiet. We stayed across the street t The Hermann House. Loved the courtyard and the exposed brick in the room. Rooms are small but quaint. HINT: there is NO elevator at Hermann House so when they ask if you want help with bags take it:). My only complaint was maid service was lacking a bit. They left our used wash rags and our used champagne glasses in the room. Not a huge deal but if I'm paying $250 a night I just expected a little more. But again, if you're looking for a New Orleans hotel this would be it. It's not a Hilton but that's part of the charm. Be sure if you stay here check out the history of the hotel and May Bailys place. Very interesting:)

There was some outside renovations going on that put the pool out of service but it was too cold anyway. Nice hotel, friendly, helpful staff and a free breakfast, all for a reasonable price. And the best part is its location, just blocks from everything you want to walk to.
The only complaint was no refrigerator in the room, one was available for $25, Come on , for that price every room should have a fridge. But at least they did not charge for access to the internet. Free wireless was available in the room.

Booked 2 nights at the hotel on the strength of previous reviews and was not disappointed. The staff are excellent and very friendly and welcoming. Hotel is ideally placed one block from Bourbon Street and provides a complimentary breakfast every morning. Other little touches such as chocolates on your pillow and free coffee and cookies are delightful.

The pool area is currently being refurbished, but as we weren't here to sit out poolside, this didn't pose any problems.

All in all, a very nice stay, and I would come again.
