“Go for the macaroons”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012 via mobile

Very inventive macaroon flavors. Well executed. Other desserts are pretty but predictable. Go for the macaroons but be prepared to shell out a couple bucks for just one.

“Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012 via mobile

If you love sweet treats you will think you've died and gone to heaven. Delicious hand crafted chocolates in unique flavors, homemade marshmallows, beautiful little cakes, macaroons and cupcakes, gelato and an assortment of coffees and drinks all packaged so sweetly in a beautiful little shop. I love to get Valentines and Christmas gifts here.

“Make it your afternoon break!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

I read about Sucre here but hadn't really planned on going, sweet tooth notwithstanding. After a few hours walking around the Garden District/Lafayette, I headed to Magazine and there it was, daring me to say no. I was happy to sit and watch people for a while, and went crazy with both gelato and macarons, both of which staff helped me choose. Gelato was incredible, and not overly sweet; very mild flavor. Macarons were crisp/soft and mild as well. Looking at their website, you can tell that there will be a thousand other things you want to try as well; I stuck with basics but the choices are mouthwatering. Plan your day so that you're here when you're ready for a break and a treat!

“There are NO words for the goodness of Sucre!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

I stopped by just before leaving for the airport, to bring home some goodies for my staff and kids. While there I decided to indulge in one of their gelato sundaes! OMG! Dessert heaven! I had the bread pudding sundae, with pieces of bread pudding, candied pecans, all served over butter pecan gelato. AMAZING! I also bought some of the macaroons for my kids. They are not traditional macaroons mind you, but better. More like a very delicate, flaky whoopie pie. PB&J and salted caramel are among your choices. They also have decadent chocolates (so my assistant said!) Prices are a little high (but not ridiculous) but WELL wotrth it for what you get! And the decor is just precious! Like an old fashioned shop, yet done in all pastels.
