Owner description: Get wherever you want to go in New Orleans with the Regional Transit Authority (RTA). Our extensive network of buses and streetcars winds throughout every neighborhood of the Crescent City. From Uptown to Downtown, from Lakeview to the Lower Nine, from Mid-City across the Mississippi River and to the parish lines, the RTA goes there. As streetcars glide underneath grand live oaks and past stately mansions, they offer up relaxing views of the beauty, charm and history of New Orleans for little cost. When riders board these historic vehicles they are boarding a piece of movable New Orleans history. The RTA operates three streetcar lines: the famous, historic St. Charles line, the Canal Street line, and the Riverfront line. All lines either run along or intersect with Canal Street in the area between the French Quarter and the Central Business District (CBD) connecting Uptown/Garden District, Carrollton, Mid-City, City Park and the Marigny. The RTA is currently adding more Streetcar lines.

“LOVE IT”

It was fun and great ride. The afternoon driver was entertaining and full of information. Wish they posted their times, though sat in the dark not sure if there was car coming... but meet some nice folks along the way.

“Don't Miss This!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Take about 2 hours and ride the trolly to the end of the line and back. You'll get to see the famous Garden District and the georgous old homes on the way by City Park and Tulane University. Check out the Mardi Gras beads hanging in the trees.
Time your trip to avoid rush hours because locals pack the trollies full daily. Any other times of the day and you'll really enjoy this cheap ($1.25 ) ride back in time.

“Great Way to Travel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

The Streetcar is a great way to see a good portion of the suburbs, as well as view the magnificent mansions and buildings on St. Charles Street. Nice slow ride so you can take in the sites. Extremely reasonable price. Only problem currently is the construction downtown limits the distance that can be traveled. A fun way to see the NOLA sites.

“See the whole city of New Orleans for $3.00”

Best tourist value for your money. Everyone on the streetcar is more than happy to tell you want to see and do next. Great way to get a 'feel' of the city.
