“beautiful park setting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

My husband and I had an enjoyable time there on a cold wet day. They do have work by Degas, Miro, Monet and many other noteworthy artists. However, I was expecting a more impressive collection of art since it was identified as a GEM by AAA. It is a small museum in a beautiful park setting. Don't miss the sculpture garden.

“NOMA does it right and is a must see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

The New Orleans Museum of Art is an absolute must see whether you're a visitor to the city or a local!

The museum changes the featured display a couple times per year and Hubby and I have never been disappointed (and he's not a big fan of strolling museums so that says a ton right there)!

NOMA is a wonderful adventure for the whole family. Enjoy!

“Surprisingly Poor Collection”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014 via mobile

Tip: the street car line ends right in front of the museum. Car-less tourists can get from the downtown/French Quarter area by street car. The ride itself is a treat.

For a City with as much historic wealth as New Orleans, their art museum is surprisingly small. The collection is limited in both its quality and its scope.

This is easily something that can be bypassed if your time in the City is limited.

“Fabulous museum with wonderful exhibits”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

Given the history of New Orleans it only makes sense that there is a noticeable French influence in many of the exhibits. For example life sized portraits of Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVI. Wonderful! The building itself is beautiful as are the surrounding grounds. It is most definitely a pleasurable museum experience and worth a visit.

“Sunny Afternoon in the Sculpture Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

The Robert Indiana LOVE is worth the trip alone. The grounds are so amazing. The museum is somewhat far away from everything. You'll have to take a cab or drive there.
