With so much to do in New Orleans this place is often overlooked. I think it is a world class facility with fine examples of many art forms and mediums. They have some beautiful oils in the galleries. I think you would enjoy this quiet alternative to the New Orleans party atmosphere. Close to the famous cemeteries and in the heart of city park which enables you to make a day of a visit there. As a local,resident I am happy to recommend this attraction to visitors and locals alike

Nice displays of various artists. The small cafeteria served wonderful food. The grounds outside were beautiful.

We spent the last day of our holiday here and it was wonderful.
The staff are volunteers who love their job and this is reflected in their great customer service skills.
There was a changeover of exhibits when we visited so we didn't get to see everything we had hoped, but really enjoyed it anyway.
We had lunch in the onsite restaurant and it was one of the best meals we had in a month in the USA.
Next door is the sculputure park, now we have been to many the World over, and this is the best and again FREE!
You can ride a Canal streetcar to museum and they go every 40 minutes to this destination, so even the journey is a pleasure.

Best African Art collection we have ever seen. Sculpture gardens were great. An O'Keefe, Monet, Manet, Degas, Sargent one right after the other. Take the trolley to get there from downtown.
