Kushner Restoration Pavilion, where staff and volunteers restore artifacts in public view; The American Sector restaurant and Soda Shop - delicious onsite dining options; and the new US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center, where exhibits and interactive experiences paint the picture of a nation mobilized for war. “WWII vets onsite to tell their stories!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

I really enjoyed the museum and wished we had planned to spend more time. We didn't do the 4D movie due to us being short on time. It was a really neat experience to sit down and visit with the Vets that were volunteering there. They have lots of stories, so plan to spend more then the recommended 3 hours.

“Must see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

We walked here from Harrah's.....if you are a history buff, you must go....my husband and I are both retirement age, and my father-in-law was in the 2nd wave on Omaha Beach. A very moving experience, and they were in the process of building a new wing.....we plan on returning next year.

“National WWII Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Recommend this Museum to everyone as it is so much more than a typical museum. It is very interactive, with 4D movie which was so impressive. Everyone applauded afterward. This is not a boring quiet walk through museum, it draws you in. There is so much going on, quiet places to listen to 2 minute videos by people who were there and WWII veterans scattered around ready to talk about their experiences. This is a can't miss if you are in New Orleans. We expected to stay an hour or so because we had another commitment, but we stayed two hours the first day and went back for 6 hours the next day.
