Lovely old building filled with stained glass and has a special local significance, It's quite awesome and worth a visit because of its history.
The Cathedral building is old. The oldest constantly in use Catholic cathedral in the USA. We attended Mass on Saturday evening. It was not so ornate as to be distracting.

The best part...we were able to watch a traditional New Orleans wedding...with the wedding party and guests marching through the Quarter, throwing beads to onlookers. Awesome!
A wonderful gentleman gave us the history of the organ being destroyed by Katrina. A visitor from Paris was playing the new installed pipe organ the day we were there. It was a beautific experience.
