they were still working on the remodeling while i was here, they were actually painting baseboards in the hall on my floor, so at least it shows they are committed to improvement. I gather that choice hotels just recently aquired the property.
rooms were clean and nicely appointed - but beware roome with the #10 - very small, only enough room for one person in my opinion.
breakfast was great - waffles, good assortment of toast, bagels, muffins. pluse cereal, fruit and oatmeal. seems to be pretty standard at most of the choice brands
wireless internet was very weak in my room, but betterin the lobby.
rooms ending in #10 like mine are off in a corner so that may have had something to do with it.
lcoation - a little sketchy. out my window i could see public housing a block across canal st.
Not much right around the hotel. some shady types hanging out in the blocks right around, but i was never bothered or even panhandled. walk 2 blocks south on canal st and it is tourist central - a totally different vibe. Fast food and couple of drug stores there.
close enough to french quarter to walk unless you are infirm. plus streetcar boards right in front of hotel.
i got a rate of 53$ per night for two nights (thur-fri) in march so it was an exceptional deal for that price, but it may have been b/c they were renovating.
