“Shops, Street Performers, Weddings and Artists”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Jackson Square, home to The Saint Louis Cathedral, boasts artists, street performers and many small shops. It's a sight seer's mecca where you can enjoy people watching, take a horse and buggy ride or just inhale the local culture. Quite enjoyable.

“Morning in Jackson Square”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

The Square looks beautiful. It has definitely been refurbished since we were there preKatrina. There were two weddings going on just this last Saturday. Blue blue sky, the St Louis Cathedral in the background and the Square..

“Lots to see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Lots going on here. Buskers, artists with their wares to show, historical points of interest, the Market, little shops -- including an official tourism office, which is a refreshing change from the places on the street trying to sell you tours.

“The Center of it all in New Orleans”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

In a city with many, many attractions, it felt like Jackson Square was the focal point of them all. It was peaceful and serene in some spots and loud and colorful in others. The statue of Andrew Jackson dominates the square. The fountain near the Cabildo was another interesting attraction in the Square. The one thing that struck me was that no matter where you were in the Square the sound of a brass/jazz band could be heard playing all the time. In no other place in the world that I've been to can I think of that happening. I thought that was pretty cool. It made Jackson Square feel alive. No trip to New Orleans is complete unless you visit Jackson Square.
