“Educational and Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

Mardi Gras World offers a free shuttle service with a multitude of stops so easy to access. We had a marvelous tour guide who really made the tour enjoyable. For the $20 entrance fee you get to shop in their gift shop, play dress up in Mardi Gras clothing, watch an informative short film, eat a delicious piece of Kings Cake, view the craftsman at work on the floats, and experience a delightful guided tour of the warehouse, as well as extra time to walk around after the tour to view and take photos of the floats. This is a grand activity for all ages.

“What a great tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

This tour begins with a short film about the history of the mardi gras parades and the family that has been building floats for it since the beginning. The tour then moves into the warehouse, where the company was busy building the floats for the coming season. It was quite informative - we all learned so much about Mardi Gras. I highly recommend this tour!

“So Much Fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

Learned so much about Mardi Gras and what it takes to put on the grand celebration. Enjoyed seeing the floats being built. The family had fun dressing up in Mardi Gras clothes and taking pictures. Jacques was a great tour guide.

“So much fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

We had so much fun on our visit to Mardi Gras World. They offer a free shuttle to their facility. Ask at the front desk at your hotel or go into one of the little places that offer tours. They will get you the shuttle service.
I was delighted from the moment we walked in the door. Lots of statues and props used were on display. The tour is a reasonable fee. I believe $20 for adults. This includes a video, piece of King Cake and guided tour in the warehouse. Once the tour is over, they invite you to wander around and see what they are working on and take photos (just don't use a flash!). Our guide was wonderful. She was very informative and friendly. We were lucky to see many floats that were being worked on for the 2014 Mardi Gras season. Don't miss this place. Fun for young and old.

“Very cool, great behind the scenes info”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

This was one of the most interesting non-food related things I've seen in all of New Orleans. Learning about Mardi Gras, seeing the floats being designed, the stored older pieces, and watching them re-use older pieces was really cool. After the tour, they let you just wander around the warehouse taking pictures if you like. If you have 30 minutes or 90 minutes, it's great either way! The best part is that they even have a free shuttle to pick you up and take you back. Must see.
