We have stayed at The Speckled Hen Inn for a weekend "get away" every November for the past 4 years. We wouldn't even think about staying anywhere else when we visit Madison! The Inn is a large house in the country that has a big front porch with chairs, pastures with llamas and sheep, and woods with wild life. All this and yet the Inn is located close to the main highways to get you where you need to be quickly and easily. Happy, the owner's golden doodle cheerfully welcomes guests, and helps makes everyone feel like they are "home". Bob and Pat (the Inn Keepers) have created a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that puts everyone at ease. The breakfasts are huge and delicious. The guests get to choose the time of the breakfast, (majority rules) and the other guests we have met during our visits have been interesting, enjoyable and from all over the US. The rooms are large and comfortable. The Inn is not fancy. But it is very charming and welcoming. Bob and Pat know the Madison area and are able to make recommendations if anyone has questions about where to eat etc....We truly look forward to visiting The Speckled Hen Inn again next year.
