“Last-resort Resort”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

I had to stay an extra night in Madison for business and the hotel I had been staying in was fully booked, so the booking site suggested this place. I took a cab late in the evening and found myself at a rundown place by the freeway. The check-in clerk was very pleasant, but the bulletproof glass/ bank teller slot in the office did not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling (more of a Bates Motel feeling). The room itself was quite clean, as was the bed, the bathroom had evidently been refurbished at some point, and the TV worked. The door and window were very flimsy and the walls very thin (fortunately not a lot of other guests that night), so the freeway noise came right in. For the price, this would have been a tolerable lodging, except that the room had the worst stench I have ever encountered in my years of travelling all over. I could not identify the source or nature of this, but it seemed to permeate everything and made it almost impossible to sleep. I could not recommend this establishment unless there is no other choice.

I stayed here with my family for a weekend to go to an event at the alliant energy center. The location was great, close by a bus station and close to downtown/state street. The staff was very nice, and the room was very clean. The breakfast was also very good, they had cereal, waffles, fruits, eggs, sausages, biscuit and gravy too. The beds were also confortable. I will come back.

At first, I thought the motel had been closed down but it was the one across the street that was boarded up. The signage could be a bit better as I nearly drove by it twice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The motel appears to be 1950's or 60's vintage. The room was small, but big enough for two beds. The tv works although the numbers had worn off the control but on the plus side there is a channel guide provided by a local pizza vendor. Although clean, the room was in need of repair. The bathroom had obviously recently been updated and had a very nice tile floor and the shower was good too. All soap, shampoo etc. is dispensed from hand pumps. The biggest surprise was the inner main hall which hosts the continental breakfast which was limited but ok considering the price. The hall is very clean & wide Indonesian carvings above every door. I would only stay again if everything else was full.

We Paid $49.00 per night, and were pleasantly surprised. The double room with full size beds was very clean. the Hispanic receptionist was very polite, and effiicent. The free breakfast was nice(included fresh fruit and waffles, cereal, bisquits and gravy, etc). They have a free public computer as well. The GPS did have a issue locating it, but the industrial area right off the freeway was peaceful and safe. I would stay here again. They room does not have a heater, but is available upon request. It was a 60 degree night and heat was not need for our pleasant stay.

Room Tip: ask for extrta towels, and heat to be turned if it is during cold weather.

well we arived to the place and it looked like a episode of cops, the place was disgusting. the stains on the chair gave an interesting touch to the place as well. once i got all settled in, i thought to myself " wow i dont even think i can be drunk enough to sleep in this dump". the beds we very uncomfortable to say the least, the room was super hot the whole time, walls very thin... around 3 am there were drunk people running around the hotel, outside the hotel, and someone decieded to puke right by our vehicle. this whole place was just creepy. the windows didnt shut all the way, i could see outside my door while it was shut. i will save the best for last here we go.... the first night we got back to our room; we were a little hungry so we got some food, went to go sit on the bed to eat and there was broken GLASS all over! i didnt see it before i sat down and cut my foot right open!!!!! at that point i was grossed out to the max. i did not sleep at all in that place! everytime i had to go back to the hotel that weekend i just cried. when i attempted to sleep i used my own towel as a pillow, and another towel of my own as a blanket. once my foot got cut i thought god only knows what that glass was from and god only knows what else is in these beds! soooo gross. i will never ever ever ever ever ever stay at this place or any of these chains of hotels, nor will i ever recommend this nasty run down motel to anyone i ever meet.! i have never felt scared to fall alseep at a hotel ever in my life until this horrible experience and i hope no one ever has to go through this! so please tell your friends and family to never stay at this nasty crap hole they call a hotel... unless you enjoy the whole drug dealer prostitute murder-type feel hotels.<<<< never again! :(

A very npisy motel right by a motorway. Useless reception - often not there at all. Poor breakfast with items running out - no supervision.
