“Home grown goodness!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

Madison Farmer's Market surrounds the entire State Capital square every Saturday during the growing season. Market opens at 7 am and is very crowded between 9am and noon, so plan accordingly. Veggies, fruits, cheeses, bakery, farm fresh meats and homemade canned items are bountiful. Prices are higher than the grocery stores for many items but you can' t deny the freshness and quality you get here is the best. Consider breakfast at Ingrid' s food cart, in front of the Veteran's Museum near State St. This food cart was listed in Bon Appetite as one of the best in the country. Made to order bisquits. She has a delightful mild horseradish hollandaise you can order for your bisquit that is amazing. Also 1/2 block down State St is The Baker's Window, that uses all market ingredients in season. Best quiche and pie ever! Everything in there is deiish!

“Impressive Farmer's market”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

I'd always heard that Madison had a great farmers market. Endless booths selling local produce, meats, cheeses, and breads. It's enormous. Much larger than I'd anticipated. The only issue is that it's really narrow, and the pedestrian flow is one way (which makes sense since it's so narrow). But that makes it difficult to browse the stalls and go back to the ones you liked.

“The Best Farmers' Market Ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

Weare live 200 miles away, but make it a point to drive to Madison once a year in the summer just so we can go to the Farmers' Market! The sights, smells, and tastes are unbelievable. The array of offerings are excellent and everything is top-notch. Many booths offer tasting and the breads, salsas, cheeses, meats, etc. are outstanding. When you go, make sure you have a couple hours to wander and take your time.

“Fun time.”

Great market with only Wisconsin items. A good variety of fruits and vegtables. Beautiful flowers and wools. Around the capital building.

“Amazing Farmer's Market for a Modest Size Community!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

The market envelopes the Capital Square...with booth upon booth of fresh produce, flowers/plants, and wonderful baked goods. Though we were told it was open until 2:00, the rush was over by 12:30 and some vendors were pulling up stakes. The produce was great in August with substantial amounts of every vegtable imaginable. I'm sure I also consumed several thousand calories worth of baked goods on our stroll.
