I hadn't stayed at this hotel before, but at the suggestion of a friend I booked a room at this hotel. Wow, it was such a nice place! The hotel had been recently renovated, and the rooms were very clean and well-kept. All the staff I dealt with provided superior customer service. I didn't use the pool, so I can't comment on that. Breakfast was good. The location to the hotel was great (we had a cheer competition at the convention center across the street). I will definitely book a room at this hotel next year.

My wife and I drove up to Madison for a Friday/Saturday night concert and stayed the weekend here. When I booked this room months ago it was a Holiday Inn Express but has since changed to a Comfort Inn. From the moment we arrived the lady at the front desk (Erin) was great and helped us with early check-in, our choice of floor, and local places to eat. We got into our room which was a king and the room was pretty big. My wife is a big germ person and the room passed her test so I knew it was clean. Both nights we talked to the front desk about different things going on and they were very helpful. The hotel is located right off the interstate as you come in from the south and a $9 cab ride will get you down town quickly. Anytime we come back to Madison we will stay here.

I recently used the hot tub at Holiday Inn Express in Madison and contracted Hot Tub Folliculitis. My roommate also got it, as well as a friend of mine who was in a separate room. All three of us have considerable rashes from the facilities and one needed medical attention.

I tried to post this review on Holiday Inn's website, but they rejected it and said someone would contact me immediately. So far, I have not heard from them at all (despite leaving my phone number.)

Be VERY careful about this hotel! I would recommend the Sheraton right next door instead. It's cheaper, and as far as I know, doesn't have problems with Hot Tub bacteria.

This guest was contacted and the nature of their issue was discussed with management.

Our indoor pool and whirlpool are inspected and tested by our onsite certified pool operator. In addition, the City of Madison inspects all area pools and whirlpools and we have had no issues or complaints aside from this guest. Our whirlpool is used daily by dozens of guests and we have had no other comments from anyone regarding a negative experience.

We certainly regret any inconvenience this guest suffered but there is no evidence that it occurred at our facility other than their review.

This hotel is changing to a Comfort Inn soon but I'd stay at it again regardless of the name. Very comfortable and good size rooms. Breakfast was very good with a lot of variety - the lady working in the breakfast area were very busy but did a good job staying ahead of the hotel guests. The hotel is easy to get to from the beltway. On the negative side, the elevator is small and used by everyone including housekeeping. The breakfast area was also small for the size of the hotel especially when they're busy. There are no restaurants in walking distance with the exception of the one at the Sheraton - across the parking lot.

Dear Bountiful-IA,

I appreciate your loyalty despite of the Brand change. I am also glad that you have enjoyed our breakfast selections and happy with the service received. However, it is regrettable that you did not like the size area of the elevator and the breakfast lounge. We value this feedback and it will now be documented as a ground for future upgrade.

Once again, thank you for staying with with us.

Sincerely,

Divina P.

We stayed just one night, arrived late and left early. Check in and out were very efficient. Nicely, newly renovated. Our room, two queen beds, was very spacious. The included breakfast had numerous items, including hot items like eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, etc.

We stayed here the last weekend of July 2013. We got a great deal since it was a weekend. The room was bigger than i expected. There are a couple subway lines in very close walking distance. The breakfast was very good and the lady who stocks it up was very friendly and energetic.
