This restaurant was recommended by the owner of the B&B we were staying at as being a great place to celebrate my wife's birthday. We arrived early for our reservation and the hostess seemed a little confused, but she did seat us at a nice table by the windows with a great vied of the lake.
They wine list that was presented listed a number of selected wines, however a more extensive wine list was available. After a glass of wine we decided to pass on the appetizer course and ordered our meal. It was a nice touch that a house salad was included in the price of the entree, as were the side dishes. I chose the rack of lamb with the mushroom ragout and my wife selected the Steak Diana. The lamb was excellent and the ragout a wonderful accompaniment, and it was cooked exactly as I like it - a real medium rare. The Steak Diana was prepared tableside which was a nice elegant touch. The portion was generous, and it too was cooked properly.
We passed on dessert, as well, but were told that the Cherries Jubilee were the dessert of choice, and also made tableside.
Bottom Line: This was an excellent dining experience and certainly deserving of the awards it has received.
TIP: The window tables can get quite warm with the hot summer sun reflecting off the water, even with the shades drawn. If you get warm easily, you may want to request a table away from them.
