“Wow! You get what you pay for.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014 via mobile

Well, the room was clean but still appeared dirty. That was the best feature. This morning my family and I were woken up to a woman beating our door down. After telling her that she was at the wrong door she pounded and kicked even harder. My husband calls the front desk and a security guard is there almost immediately. After a few moments of us speaking through the door, because now I am afraid to open it, she realized she was at the wrong door, perhaps the wrong hotel - we will never know. Then we received a phone call to apologize but my family was already in motion and were quickly exiting the premises never to return again. My kids, crying and fearing for their lives, begged us to end our trip immediately. We booked through a discount company and they will be receiving a comment about this location so that they will not refer anyone else to this location.

If you are looking for anything more than a place to crash for the night, I’d probably skip this place.

I came to town needing a place to stay and not much more. The location of the Motel is fairly convenient, near E. Washington Ave and I-39. It has been probably 20 years since I had been in the area. The surrounding neighborhood did not seem bad, but for some reason, this motel just didn’t seem to have a welcoming appeal to it.

Check-in was quick and smooth, including a lecture about how I would be ejected if I smoked in the room. I found this a bit humorous later when despite the cold weather, people were propping open the doors to the outside in the hallway by the room and standing in the doorway smoking (I guess technically outside), making the hallway smell like a bar in the 1990’s.

The common areas were dirty and not very appealing. The hallway carpets were definitely in need of cleaning and the hallways really could have used some paint. I was on the first floor and as someone else had mentioned, instead of 1 long hallway to get to your room, the hallway was broken up by a series of hall doors. It really gave the hotel an unusual, almost penitentiary type feel.

The room itself wasn’t terrible. While I would not eat off the floor, the room was not overly dirty. The bed was springy and slightly noisy, but I managed to get a decent nights sleep. The linens and towels seemed clean.

There were two issues with the room. The first was the TV did not work. I checked the connections and found that the coax cable connector had been broken in two. I called the front desk and told them specifically what the problem was and asked if they had another coax cable they could bring me so I could watch TV. I was told they would report the issue to the manager and they would call me when they returned to the desk. I never received a call and I had not TV during my stay. I told the front desk upon checking out and found the new shift was unaware of the problem and there seemed to not even be a note to maintenance to fix the problem. I was offered nothing for my troubles, though the morning person was apologetic.

My other issue was the heater in the room. It was turned all the way up and my room was terribly hot. It seemed no matter how low I turned the thermostat on the unit, it kept blowing hot air. My room was probably pushing 90 degrees, so I just turned the heat off and went to bed. In fairness to the hotel, I did not tell the front desk.

Personally, if you are by yourself and looking for a place to crash for the night, this place will do. The room wasn’t terrible. While it was not the cleanest room I have been in, I have paid more for a lot worse. The common areas look terrible and really give a poor first impression of the hotel. While I would not avoid this place, it would not be my first choice either.

I stayed here on business February 3rd, I came into town late (contractor) looking for somewhere cheap. I had stayed at another Motel 6 in Greenbay the previous week that wasnt this bad. The place feels like a jail. I stayed on the 1st floor, which has a weird series of interior doors going down the halls and to your room. Like every 6 rooms, you go through a closed door....like a lock down. In each chamber, there is a different blend of odor, on the first floor it was a combination of Ramen noodles and fried chicken. The ice machine is on the second floor, so I ventured there, to where I could hear numerous people arguing and laughing and the "yo dawg, sup" echoing through the halls. It was quite unnerving. Supposedly, Wisconsin has a no smoking policy in hotels, which is why I go outside, but on the second floor, it smelled like burning diesel fuel and plastic. Guessing that would be the crack cocaine or meth, certainly not cigarettes or weed, and definitely not burnt popcorn. I noticed little black rings found on the toilet seat, and around the sink, and on the mirror. Probably from a crack pipe.

If I could give this Motel 6 a negative stars I would. It was the worst hotel I ever stayed in my life. I would rather stay in a jail cell then ever stay at this Motel 6. I was traveling and just needed to get some sleep for 5 hrs. or so in a bed if you could even call them a bed. I trying to get off cheap but should of either sleep in my car or paid a little more and went to a real hotel, I would not consider this place a hotel or motel. The rooms were not very clean it smell like dope in the hallways and smelled like puke in my room. The room was very run down carpet was all stained . I was trying to sleep people were running and screaming in the hallways couldn't get any sleep that I needed. Call the front desk about the noise and they said they couldn't do anything about that because they have other complaints about the noise .but the people wont stop making noise, sorry you just have to deal with. I ask for a refund and she said no refunds so I just left and slept in my car.

The security guard when we checked in, and the drug dealer in the lobby, should have been my first clues that all was not well. Trying to be kind to the budget, we checked in anyway. At 2 a.m., sleep was interrupted by blood curdling screams, and an altercation in the hallway. Later that day we made other arrangements, and checked out.

Room Tip: Do not stay here. Ever. For any reason.

We should have gotten right back on the bike when we arrived. A pan handler tried to sell us a shirt and pants as soon as our feet touched the ground. Check-in took about 25 minutes because one person behind the counter was cleaning up the blood from the fight he just got into, and the other (actual person that worked there) didn't know how to process my corporate lodging card. The so called security person only seemed to be concerned with the parking permits. We didn't get much sleep in fear that something would happen to our bike. The room was very rundown but surprisingly clean. There were other hotels in the area and they didn't seem to have anyone loitering outside like this place did. We arrived at 10pm and were back on the road by 4am just because we couldn't get a good night sleep. They should have paid US to stay there.

Room Tip: Stay anywhere but this hotel! The value isn't worth the risk!

dont know where to start. check in was fast. down hill from there. got to our room and the room acrtoss from us was having a party. theyre door was opened and a bunch of young kids, probably underage were drinking and smoking. 2 of them sitting in the hallway drinking on the floor. when asked for a new room they said none were available yet the parking lot only had 3 or 4 rusty trucks and a van marked escort service. should have known then. bathroom was okay but main room dirty and bad musty smell. no coffee pot in room and asked for one. clerk said it cost $2.00 extra. forget it. probably going in his pocket. ice machine was empty, probably from the party across the hall. tv remote did not work. desk clerk brought new ones, or should i say used ones as they lasted about an hour. 4 channels on tv. next morning after about 3 hours of sleep went for the breakfast. girl said they were out of everything and it had only been 15 minutes since they opened. ok, who ate all that? needless to say, we are never going back and we did send a letter to corp. hq. strangely we have not heard back.

Room Tip: sleep in your car
