The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the service top notch. We had a wonderful stay. The room was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The view of the lake can't be beat. I can't wait to return.

Recently stayed at The Edgewater mid-week for a business dinner and event the next day. Accommodations and service were excellent. From the time I drove up to the time I drove away - staff was attentive, courteous and helpful. I had a lakefront facing King size room, clean, well decorated with a very nice view of the lake. Private dinner in the Chef's dining room was well served, and food excellent. Management checked on our group regularly to ensure we were taken care of. The hotel is decorated with a modern "edge" and is uniquely situated on Lake Mendota with a view to the North of the UW union lakefront area. A few blocks from the Capitol Square area - this hotel is convenient to both the downtown and UW area. Will come back.

Everything from the views, to the facilities, to the staff was spectacular. I had a lake view room on the second floor that had spectacular views. I grabbed a bite at the Statehouse Bar and it had a lively crowd Friday and Saturday night.
I took full advantage of the lake view cardio machines at the spa and followed that with a stay in the serenity pool and a steam in the locker room.

Room Tip: The lake view rooms are gorgeous.

My recent trip to the Edgewater was a relaxing and problem free stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location provides beautiful views, and is very conveniently located to nearby restaurants and other attractions.

What an outstanding resort right in the center of Madison. Everything from the check in to departure was perfect and the entire staff had a great attitude and can do approach to any question. The food was delicious! Rooms were absolutely beautiful and ours faced the lake which was lovely. Perhaps the best night of sleep I have had in a year. Highly recommend to all business or pleasure travelers to Madison area. Last but not least every corner of this property was spotless.

Room Tip: Love the lake view as even on business you will feel like you are on vacation.

My wife and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary at The Edgewater this past weekend. We had an absolutely terrific experience. My wife was at awe with the view of the lake from our room, she felt as if she was on an ocean cruise, we just didn’t need our Dramamine. The front desk agent checked us in with an acknowledgement of our anniversary and made us feel welcome as he mentioned several amenities of the property. The wait staff in the Statehouse were prompt and courteous, took our picture sitting at our table overlooking the lake. Everyone we met as we explored the property were friendly and helpful. The room amenities and WIFI coverage was outstanding, the bed was extremely comfortable and positioned so you looked out onto the lake, can’t get much better than this. Added a little wine to the evening and you would swear we were sailing. Great job on the renovations and training a professional staff. Thanks for a terrific start to our 35th.

Room Tip: Be sure to book a lake view room and leave the Dramamine at home

This is a wonderful property, all be it still completing renovations. A full resort in middle of Madison. Had a lake view, spent much of the time in nice chairs looking out window. Lovely view. Short walk to Capital, State St, dining and shopping.
We look forward to seeing the Boathouse on our next visit.

Two suggestions:
1- Pillows were very hard, offer a variety
2 - lights in bathroom were very bright and needed a dimmer. Be nice to have separate switches for vanity, shower, tub, etc.

Nicely restored Madison history.

The Edgewater is the proud revival of an historic hotel, right on the shores of Lake Mendota, adjacent to the University of Wisconsin and steps from the state Capitol, in the heart of downtown Madison. The restored property maintains the classic facade of its predecessor, now called The Langdon Building, and a new tower, The Wisconsin Building, all with completely new interiors, several restaurants, a magnificent spa, ballrooms, and a large plaza that connects both hotel guests and the public with the beautiful waters of the lake. Meeting and banquet facilities range from The Grand Ballroom and Mendota Ballroom, both in the Wisconsin Building, to The Red Crown Club on top of the Langdon Building, offering versatility and spectacular views of Lake Mendota.
