“Awesome Ski Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

A friend and I wanted a quick get away and decided to ski Cascade Mountain just 1/2 hour north of Madison. What an unbelievable end to our day when we checked into The Edgewater Hotel. This place was picture perfect, decorated for Christmas and nestled right on Lake Medota. The staff was amazing from the minute we walked through the door. Our room overlooked the lake and the very cool ice skating rink. We relaxed in the bar with martinis before venturing out on the town. Walking distance to the Capitol area restaurants, bars and shopping. Looking forward to my next visit.

The Edgewater is a spectacular addition to the Madison landscape. Located right on the edge of the lake and meticulously renovated with a proper blend of history and modern amenities, The Edgewater is a step apart for the hum-drum chain hotel experience. My experience included a comfy king bed, very friendly staff, beautiful decor in the lounge, and a gourmet dinner. Be ready to pay pretty high prices in the restaurant, but it's worth it. Throw in a public ice rink and you've got a great holiday treat. The only thing holding this place back is the unopened coffee shop and difficult cell reception, and I understand they are fixing both of those things.

My family and I stayed at The Edgewater the day after Thanksgiving. I had heard so much about the hotel and was interested in all of their Christmas activities. The hotel is truly lovely with beautiful views of Lake Mendota. You won't find a better hotel view in Madison. The hotel staff is kind and helpful. The spa is lovely and quiet with excellent pedicures and manicures. There are many things for families to do including the ice rink, pool, and various hotel events. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are very nice though I wish their was a bathtub in the room. The Statehouse is still working out the kinks. The food takes a very long time and a number of the items we ordered were not good. The management however handled the food issues incredibly well and I do believe things will get worked out. If you are staying in Madison I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: If you want a room overlooking the lake then make sure to ask for it as some of the rooms have parti...

We were treated like royalty with special thanks to Jason the Front Desk Manager. I have never been treated better and would recommend the Edgewater to EVERYONE! It is well worth every penny spent! It is conveniently located, the skating rink and location on the water, and the spa area is beautiful. I can't wait to go back!

Held in the Sky Bar, with killer views of the Capitol, Ice Skating rink, Lake Mendota and the best views of Madison roof tops and the University I have ever seen. The staff was so attentive and the food was amazing. All our guests were so impressed. Our staff couldn't say enough about the rooms and food the next morning at the breakfast buffet. The Edgewater is the place to stay in Madison.

Loved our stay at the newly re-opened Edgewater. The views of the lake are wonderful and the hotel literally sits on the shore of the lake. There is a large plaza between the 2 main bldgs. of the hotel where in winter, it accommodates an ice rink that was being enjoyed by many when we arrived. Would love to return in summer and sit in one of the many bistro tables along the lake edge and enjoy cocktails and lake views. Took advantage of the work out room which is in the Langdon bldg. and runs the width of the bldg. facing the lake, so all of the treadmills and elliptical machines have stunning lake views to keep you inspired to work out longer. The rooms themselves are tastefully decorated with beautiful wood furniture & bedding, nice choices in marbles and colors. Enjoyed the comfortable robes too (always a plus for me!). Walking distance to all the fun and energy of Madison and the university, the Capital and restaurants near State St.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Langdon bldg., which is the older of the 2 bldgs. If you expect to work out in the...
