“Nice hotel with a few flaws”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

We stayed here for one night while visiting Mesa Verde National Park and the Anasazi Heritage Center. The hotel is located a little outside of downtown in a quiet area. The staff was friendly but not overly motivated. The room was rather big and clean, the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the walls were very thin and every time one of our neighbors closed the door or had a shower we could hear it. Breakfast was served in a room next to the reception. We had toast, eggs, cereals, waffles, cakes, fruit, coffee, tea and milk - all in all a very rich and good breakfast. We booked the room online and got a special rate, an additional night booked at the reception would have been at a higher rate. If you're looking for a place to spend a night for heading out early to Mesa Verde we can recommend this hotel.

Hi Thorsten K,
We are so privileged to have had you stay with us during your vacation. I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. We strive for excellence every day and I am glad that you saw that. I wish the walls were thicker but unfortunately that is something we cannot change. We try to overcome small obstacles such as the walls not being thicker by making up for it in other areas such as cleanliness and great customer service, and of course our daybreak breakfast always helps to get full happy bellies before you head off to your next destination. Thank you again for staying with us.

The room was a little snug, but had a desk for workspace. No place to set a suitcase. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. My room had no shampoo or soap, which I assume was an oversight by housekeeping, not standard policy. The location is on the east end of town, making it closer to Mesa Verde and farther from downtown. But you're probably going to drive everywhere anyway, so location may not matter much. There is a Mexican restaurant next door. I didn't try it so cannot comment.

Hi Dave Thank you for visiting with us, I apologize housekeeping did not leave soap and shampoo in your room as that is a standard. We have been undergoing housekeeping training so hopefully that issue will not happen again. I am glad our room was suitable for your needs. They seem small, with us having a fridge and microwave in all our rooms that does take up a little extra space. But we figure it is worth the compromise to have somewhere to store your foods while traveling. Please stay with us again on your next trip to the four corners.

Stayed at this hotel while visiting Mesa Verde National Park. Good location. Nice outdoor pool. Clean room and it was good sized. Comfortable beds. Quite location. It had a nice big breakfast area and good food. The staff was friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here with a Contiki group as a one night stop over. The hotel was located on the edge of town but not to far to walk. The room was a good size but smelt of stale smoke (not the hotels fault they can’t control the guests). The bed was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. The bathroom was clean but a bit dated and smelt a little musty. The air conditioner worked well. There was a pool area that looked nice and clean but we never used it so it would be unfair to comment. The breakfast was filling and a nice selection of cereals and waffles.

Room Tip: Walk out to the main lawn and chase a prairie dog it's a good laugh
