“Good food and beer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

I had the fish and Chips and a Brown ale which is a mix of two of their beers, (was tired when I ate their after a 3 day trip to CO from MI, and unfortunately can't recall which two were combined). The menu name dropped new castle, and I would say that is a good description. It was good. Fish was good decent portion size, I thought the fries were good but a little greasy. The Coleslaw was excellent. Not swimming in dressing like so many other restaurants, just a perfect balance of flavors.

I would eat here again. hope to try some more of the beers as well. Prices are moderate.

“Used to be good. Not anymore”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

They used to have good fish and chips but the fish is now just chunks of fish instead of a fillets. The flavor is good but the quantity is a joke.

My wife got the veggie panini asked to hold the mushrooms. It came with mushrooms anyway. Always afraid to send anything back so she picked them off. The wait staff did not seem to notice. The bread was soggy and not very tasty.

The service was average. Nothing bad to point out other than getting the order wrong. They just didn't seem all that happy

The fish and chips are traditional style, whitefish nuggets, battered and fried. We have never served filets, which are 8 oz. each, with the fish and chips. The filets ARE served on the fish sandwich, but the fish and chips have the same 8 oz. of fish. If you had requested a filet with the fish and chips, instead of the traditional style, we would have been more than happy to accommodate you.
Your wife did order the veggie panini, and asked that broccoli be substituted for the mushrooms. That is what she received. You left the server a 20% gratuity.

“Good steaks and beers”

We stopped here after a long road trip and it was a good decision! We ate a very good steak matched with great beers. The dessert was ok. Good atmosphere. It's a nice place to stop by!

“Best Brew”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

The best brew in Cortez. The food is also very good. I buy some type of fish there every week, and love it. Good service, good food, and great beer.
