“Downhome charm and comfort food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013 via mobile

After a cold day touring Mesa Verde, La Casita warmed us with friendly service and good food. Dio, the proprietor, was lots of fun. You'll feel like your in someone's living room. Margaritas were primo.

“What a find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

We asked for dinner recommendations at the hotel we were staying. The front desk clerk gave us several and luckily we chose La Casita. I had the shredded meat tamales and my wife the chicken burrito. Both entrees were excellent! We were only in Cortez for one night, but had we stayed longer we would have gladly returned to sample the rest of the menu.

“Good Mexican Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

During our 10 day road trip on our motorcycle, I've come to rely on reviews to choose either a motel or restaurant. So, when it came to choosing a restaurant that was close to our motel (BW Turquoise Inn), I found that the Las Casita de Cortez was just across the street and it had excellent reviews. We decided to dine there and the food and service were great!

“Pleasant surprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

We found this restaurant on the advice of tripadvisor. Glad we did. We were looking for a casual place to eat after spending the day at Mesa Verde NP. When GPS said "you've reached your destination" we still couldn't find it! It is a small, nondescript building with small signage, but we looped around the block and then noticed it. The service was fast and server was very pleasant. Food was very, very good and generous servings. Big tender chucks of pork in the pork carnitas! It was a great place to unwind a bit after our fun day at MVNP.

“Good Mexican food, hard to locate inside the town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Great Margharita, good Mexican food, mixed feelings about the service: the owner was very friendly, but the waitress a bit less.
We had some trouble finding the place, because it's located in a side street of the main street.
