“Nice little family place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013 via mobile

Spacious rooms, friendly staff treat you like family. It's also really easy to find, right on the highway. Bathrooms are nice and clean. It's close to a bunch of good restaurants too. I can't say I like the price too well, but it's good enough.

We stayed in June and it was very quiet. The king size bed was very comfortable. It is just a short drive from the main street, where we found several decent restaurants. The proprietor was very accommodating and brought extra pillows that we requested while we were out at dinner. I appreciated that she asked us if it was alright for her to enter our room while we were out. We would have liked to have a microwave in the room so we could have taken our left overs from dinner back to eat the next day. The small refrigerator came in handy for the snacks we brought with us. We would definitely stay again and have recommended the Tomahawk Lodge to our family.

We've stayed at a couple of nicer places in Cortez, and paid much, much more. The Holiday Inn is nice, but very pricey in the summer. This was our fourth stay at the Tomahawk in three years. The place is older, but clean and comfortable. The owner, Teresa, is one of the friendliest and most helpful hosts that you'll ever meet. This place just offers a solid value in an expensive town and provides consistently good service. But don't expect breakfast. The wifi is very good. Several restaurants are nearby, but you'll want to drive Main Street for the best selection.

Owner was very friendly and helpful. Room was quiet, neat and clean. Bed was also nice. Hotels are not cheap during the tourist season and this one seemed to be the best value. The only thing I did not like was that there were not any decent restaurants or bars nearby.

The Tomahawk Lodge met our needs. Very basic and very clean. Teresa was very nice and accommodating. We arrived after 11 and she already had the roll-away in our room and the air-conditioner on to cool it down. She said several times to let her know if we needed anything. It was also very quiet. We would stay again. It reminded my husband and I of the hotels we stayed in as kids in the 70's.

Room Tip: They offer roll-always for families of 5.

Nice hotel at the entrance of Cortez. Reasonable price (we paid 80$ a night for 2 persons), clean rooms and bathroom. No breakfast included, except for tea and coffee. It is not in the city center, but you could eventually walk there in about 20 minutes I guess. Anyway, it is a 5 minutes drive. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. And pets are welcome! I recommend this lodge if you want to stay a couple of days to visit Mesa Verde!

The room we had was minimally appointed, but it was clean and offered everything we needed, including a comfortable bed, at a reasonable price. The lady at the desk was helpful and friendly and our stay was altogether satisfactory. If large flat screen televisions and in-room coffee makers are important to your motel appreciation, this probably is not the place for you. If all you want is a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom to rest and refresh in between doing interesting things outside the motel, I recommend it to your consideration.
