“A Great Place To Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

I'm So happy to have found this place, and am looking forwad to going back ASPA! My husband and I wanted to get away to Hot Springs with our two boys for a little trip before they went back to school, and after lots of searching and comparing we chose Five Points Cabins. The online pictures and reviews were all good and the locations was ideal.

When we finally arrived I immediatley fell in love with this place! We stayed in the small, original one bedroom cabin, number 3. It had everything we needed and enough room for our family of 4 and 2 small dogs. Outside, there were two comfy chairs and a porch. There was a large charcoal grill that was between our cabin and our neighboring cabin to share. We used it the first night no problem. The cabin was clean, the bed and the fold out futon were both comfortable, and they provided extra bedding and towels. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and was stocked with the "breakfast fixins" mentioned on their website (eggs, milk, orange juice, english muffins, cinnamon rolls and coffee), which was a very nice gesture. Skip, the owner, was very friendly and busily walked the grounds taking care everyone upon their arrival and occasionally throughout the day You can tell he cares a great deal about the place. I can see why, it really is a special place! Just a short walk down the hill from our cabin is the gazebo and huge deck with tables and chairs that overlook the lake. To the left of the deck area is the swim area/boat ramp and a small dock and to the right are more boat docks. There are also aluminum boats with paddles for guest to use. The Gazebo and deck have lights all around you can turn on at night, it's a very nice place to hang out. The nearby "boat house" cabin has life jackets and floaties for guest to use. The kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and my husband did some fishing. We met a few of the other guests while hanging out down by the lake and they were all friendly.

The cabins are right off of Central Avenue, which is the main strip in Hot Springs. There's a Wal-Mart right at the corner of Central and the road that leads to the cabins. There's also a variety of restaurants, and other activities very close by. Including the horse track and the historic downtown area. We took the kids to Magic Springs, which was less than 15 minutes away. The cabins are very secluded, even though they are so close to eveything. I am looking forward to planning another trip soon, and will make going to Five Points a family tradition from here on out. While I loved the small one bedroom cabin, I do think we will go for the two bedroom for the extra space for our family. I think a big family trip would be nice, too, in one of the large cabins. Either way, I can't wait to return!

The lake itself was beautiful, but not all units have a view. They are a short walk, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Room Tip: There's only a window unit in unit 3, it can get alittle hot in the living room of this unit.

Spent three days in Ark. at the Five Points Cabins. I must say, we stayed in the new cabin (E) and it was super nice. We had a "big" family too and it worked with the extra futon sofas. We even took an extra air mattress for the little ones which fit at the end of our beds. I am not sure I would have stayed in the "old" cabins; they looked a little run down. Everything in our cabin was fantastic. The owner was also nice. The only disappointment was that the swimming area was extremely small; fishing was... well seemed almost fished out (we did catch two but only after we rented a boat to take out). The property itself needs some work. It has a lot of "junk" around that could easily be cleaned up. Some areas had bottles/trash floating in the water. I did like the fact that there were life jackets/floats available if you wanted them. We did see a deer and a fox in the area, which was fun for the kids. There is a lot of poison ivy so you have to be careful as well as some mosquitos (which you would have in any wooded area). I also like the fact that it is only a mile from the Walmart if you wanted, which we did, to pick up items to grill/fishing licenses (too bad no fish). I am glad we rented a boat and we were able to park the big "pontoon" boat at the cabin-lake side. I wish we had checked around on the prices of these because last minute, it was expensive. The cabins did have a TV and a DVD player inside. I would recommend taking paper plates; it is easier. Just a nice place to hang out; not much to do... but we did relax. We would consider coming back again in the future. This place could be great. It just needs some "fixing up".

Room Tip: Stay in the newer cabins

This trip was all that I thought it would be and more! Skip an his wife are amazing people who really care about their customers being comfortable and having everything they need. Cabins are very rustic, real old time cabins. It's like going back in time. Complimentary breakfest fixings really add that special touch. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Very affordable, very awesome! Will be back with the rest of the family hopefully sometime soon!

We just spent two wonderful days at Five Point Lake Hamilton Cabins and we will deffinately be going back! We had a wonderful time, the owners made us feel so welcome and the cabin was beautiful. It was quiet and peaceful even our teenagers loved it. They ventured out in the boat with the oars, fished, hung out down at the beautiful lit up gazebo and docks at night. We found the cabin well stocked with everything we needed to not only grill and cook but the added breakfast items waiting for us when we got there made a wonderful addition. Our host was very informative about all there was to do and where to find places. We were very happy with our stay, Thank You Five Points!
