“Lovely historic hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2014

My husband and I ended our honeymoon here this past weekend. I love history and have wanted to stay at the Arlington for years. Let me say, I was not disappointed. Its history gives it charm. The room was comfortable and everyone working there was very nice. It's definitely not modern, but the grand building and history make up for it, in my book. Thank you to the Arlington for giving us a lovely end to our already wonderful honeymoon. I hope we can return some time soon!

Congratulations on your marriage and thank you for choosing the Arlington for your honeymoon. We have many guests who return because they either had their reception here or return for their anniversary.
I hope you will do the same.

Stay at Arlington for the historic experience - but not necessarily because it will satisfy your every luxury expectation. The main attraction is staying in a truly historic accommodation with attention to preservation - not necessarily restoration. For that reason many of the fixtures are dated, HVAC is adequate but not first rate. We enjoyed a parlor suite with ample room. Bed was comfortable and all was clean. Parlor furnishings were fine but instead of the 8 seating dining table we could have enjoyed another bed or perhaps sofa / loveseat combo; this would make the extra room truly useful. TVs were dated but adequate. Service in every aspect was top notch and revealed insightful attention to detail. The Arlington offers an experience quite unique to itself and serves as a convenient, pleasant retreat in your Hot Springs adventures. We certainly will again!

It is a beautiful old hotel, but old is the key word. Anything metal is rusted, climate control is nonexistent in the rooms, and wifi is terrible. I don't think I would stay there again unless there was a major renovation. It has it's charm but I just don't think the charm outweighs the fact that the little access panel in the wall wouldn't close and when someone 3 floors up flushed their toilet, my shower cut off completely for at least 5 seconds.

Please accept my apologies for the lack of water pressure and the condition you found your room. Maintenance and upkeep is ongoing and we spend a considerable amount year after year. Because we are a two pipe system we do our best to predetermine the climate settings that will be best for as many as 478 rooms.

Once again I am sorry that your experiences did not go well.

Before you stay at the Arlington Hotel in Downtown Hot Springs Arkansas , there are certain things you need to know.

First; This is the best hotel in the world.

Second; in order to relax and enjoy your stay here you have to know some ground rules. Bring your own snacks and if you clean your own room and ask the housekeepers for only towels then they will treat you very nicely. Take my advice. Other ground rules are that this is a place were things move slowly. Sit back, relax and try not to be in such a hurry, this is a vacation, you are in Hot Springs. If you are from the big city where everything moves fast then you need to realize that this isn't the big city.

Third; This hotel is haunted enjoy. For those of you who are not into the spiritual side of things, don't worry, you will never see a single ghost. However, if you are the kind of person who believes or looks for paranormal phenomena, then you will love the Arlington Hotel. Hot Springs is a very spiritual place anyway. There is the ancient mineral water and the native Americans used this land as neutral territory. Hot Springs is filled with art and cool clubs. Also, there is a bohemian scene, stores, etc. for those of the hippie persuasion. If you are into the paranormal, History,(especially 1920's and 30's) native Americans, art, paintings, mineral water, jewelry, magic, massages, and good food, then go to Hot Springs.

I have been visiting the Arlington Hotel and Hot Springs almost every year since 1983. Here are what I consider the highlights of both.

Arlington Hotel

Friday night seafood buffet
Sunday morning brunch
Friday and Saturday night jazz band/dancing
The lobby and bar
The double layer pool deck and hot tub (late niters at the hot tub!)
The Hotel itself

Hot Springs

Downtown shops, galleries and restaurants
The Fisherman's Warf
Magic Springs
The Hot Springs Mountain Tower and Trails
The People

Lastly, The Arlington Hotel is a living hotel Filled with history going back over 80 years ago. You can feel the energy when you get there. You will after a day or two, feel like you have been there your whole life and maybe even past lives....

You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave and you won't want to.

Thank you for giving visitors a vivid description of the hotel and especially the rich history. It is so great to feel that you are in the same town and buildings were once occupied by many legends.

The staff and myself feel privileged to tell the story and welcome guests that visit our history corner of have the opportunity to walk around our city.

I admit I was a little skeptical in the beginning because I'm not usually a fan of older hotels but this was such a pleasant surprise! Every person we came in contact with - the valet parking attendant, the bell staff, front desk, bartenders, baristas, housekeeping - were super friendly!!

We were a group of 4 women having a girls weekend and none of us had any complaints at all. You cannot beat the location of The Arlington, just walk out the front door and there are tons of shops, restaurants, bars and bathhouses within a short walk. We loved sitting on the veranda and having drinks in the early evening!

It is an older hotel so no things weren't shiny and new but the character of this gem is truly fabulous! I travel frequently for business and very rarely do I find a hotel like this that treats you like you are a family member coming to visit! Every single thing we asked for and any help we needed was seen to immediately.

I regret that we couldn't stay longer - I would love to have tried the spa but the huge tub in our room was a mineral bath in itself!

Treat yourself to a fabulous experience at The Arlington!

Room Tip: We had 2 adjoining rooms on the 5th floor facing the pool and we were very satisfied.

Thank you for taking the time to share the experiences you had with your girls weekend here at the Arlington and Hot Springs. Our staff tries very hard to be courteous and friendly to all of our guests.

Appreciate the business and look forward to you returning real soon. Next time take advantage of the spa ( party room ) that can accommodate your entire group or partake in several type of services offered in the salon.

Thanks,

Once again, the Arlington opened its doors to us and our dogs.
The staff was wonderful in seeing to our needs and treating the dogs as valued guests as well.
The room was clean and spacious. The food wonderful, especially the seafood buffet! We can't say enough about the housekeeping staff either.
Our thanks to all of the staff for making our stay absolutely wonderful once again. We will be back next year!

I have just participated in a conference at the Arlington Hotel and they were so accommodating Working with Benny, Toni, and Ava on planning and arrangements was great. During conference they made sure all requests were promptly met. Even Bob the manager was helping to ensure everything went well. The Galleria and Gift Shop on the lower level were excellent and they were so friendly.
