“Nice room for a decent price.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2010

Said to be the best hotel in Quy Nhon we walked around after a long bus ride and decided to splurge a bit from our flashpacker budget and went inside. We were able to bargain them down to $40 a night and get a beach view. The room was as good, if not better than any 3-4 star hotel in the west.

What you need to know: Great bed, satellite tv, clean bathroom with closed shower, very little if no service but we didn’t expect much as Quy Nhon isn’t very touristy. The room also has a minibar to store snacks and drinks (imp. if you are trying to save some money) and the room fee includes a breakfast that most westerners wont like but at least there is bread, coffee and some some juice. Location wise - really there isn’t a good location in Quy Nhon as everything is far from everything - you just need to walk or rent bikes - you can get bikes from Barbara’s kiwi connection at the other end of the beach from the Seagull. There is a pool but its colder than ice, the beach is right out front and very warm but be careful for jellyfish. Free wi-fi.

Stayed for four very relaxing nights - at $30 per room for 4 star hotel overlooking beach including generous buffet breakfast was definitely the best value we had in all Vietnam. Rooms were very clean and comfortable with good TV and internet. Would not recommend the restaurant or room service food - better is to be found elsewhere. Would also not recommend the half day tour by Seagull travel downstairs - $25 each for 4 of us lasted only 2.5 hours. There is not much to do or see in Quy Nhon but, unlike Nha Trang, the people are friendly and leave you alone.

This is an excellent hotel on the beach in a nice quiet town with very clean rooms and quick attentive staff. Facilities include nice pool) and staff for only US$30 per room which included generous buffet breakfast. Nothing much around town is geared to tourists which is great after Nha Trang - the sunglass sellers wont even bother you here. The hotel is a bit away from active eating/shopping areas. Restaurant and room service food was average. We stayed 3 nights and the only other westerners we saw were business people. Highly recommended.

Great rooms. Real clean and well maintained. Cleverly placed balcony to give ocean and town views. Reasonably located in a town that is not all that big - few US$ to taxi to most spots. Average food. Plenty of near by food spots - short walk or taxi. Great internet facilities. TV is not great but if you love TV stay home. Lovely ocean front outlook. Pool/resort facilities a bit lacking for the holiday maker but are OK. They are beginning work on this. Beach is great - get in and share it with the happy locals. Jet ski's and parasail etc at a pricey rate. Small kiddies park next to hotel. Interesting for the under 10's. Great natured and cheery locals will welcome you. Language can be a barrier but many do speak some English. Most taxi drivers have good English. No golf course to be found! Shopping is limited but OK. Shopping mostly catering for the local. As a base for getting out and about this is ideal.

This is a beautiful hotel - lovely rooms overlooking the water - great staff - superb food. My only complaint is that it seems to be geared mostly for conventions, large parties, weddings, etc. It does not seem to be a great place for tourists. We were the only 2 people in the hotel that were not Vietnamese. All in all though, it is a very good hotel.
