“An exciting experience never felt before”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

I went to Koref Eco with my friends. It was very hot in Kluang because it didn't rain for days, but it was different from there. It was cold and windy especially in the morning. I went for the water obstacles, 'kayaking, planting paddy and catching fish. It was tons of fun. I challenged a person who was in charge of the water obstacles, but failed. Try challenging that guy.. For 'kayaking'... sorry I don't know what better word should I use. For 'kayaking', it can really teach you about team work among each other, well mostly because my friends consist of 25 people, so you can really feel it.. and paddy planting, if your using your bare foot your going to have a bad time.. your feet will be horribly wounded.. just like mine.. please be careful the door can lock itself.. I don't mean super naturally, I mean it can lock by itself just like that. So, I advise you to bring your key everywhere you go SAFELY. It was a fun experience, and I want to go there again. I encourage you to go, a good place to escape from the city. The air is also very fresh. Hope you have your best time of your life.

“Back to Nature, minus the Torture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013 via mobile

Went to KOREF over the weekend. I didn't really know what to expect except to prepare myself for gross toilets and rooms. Pleasantly surprised however. The rooms are extremely clean and well ventilated. The toilets are just as clean.

Had the opportunity to try out the water obstacle course, the flying fox, bamboo rafting, and paddy planting. All were in great working condition and was shown and explained by the cheerful owner.

One extra positive point, locked myself out of the room, with the keys left inside at 1145 pm. Had to call the management, and problem was resolved within 15 minutes.

Overall, a positive experience in the nature and a definite value for money.

“Kluang - In, Around & Beyond!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

Its approximately a 2 hours twenty minutes casual drive from the Singapore Customs. Along the way, will pass Zenxin, the largest organic vegetable farm and UK goat farm in Malaysia. Arriving Kluang town, you can stop by the the Kluang railway station coffee shop to enjoy a cup of aromatic coffee, stuff in a packet or two of those mini-wrapped 'nasi-lemak' or 'beehoon', a curry puff or boiled egg to go with.

After a good break, drop by the popular Kluang coffee factory, taste the 'on-the-house' aromatic free black coffee ...... haha, you may get caught to buy some. Hereafter, make a trip to a nearby 'tausarpiah' (Thong Huat) shop for some snacks, there is no trying here, so its safe to be there and for sure you will not be caught by the 'to buy some'!

A couple of kilometres further up the road, you may wish to divert to the 510m high Gunung Lambak, a favourite to the locals, which has also attracted many casual climbers from Singapore.

During the schools' non-examination periods, school-level Singapore students by count of two hundred or more also arrive to ascend the mountain. The climb is not tough, but challenging; it may takes three hours both ways to complete the climb. However, if one feels not capable to reach the summit, stop at the 200m plateau and descend from another beaten gradual route.

Lunch can be any where in the town; in fact the food-courts and coffee shops sell excellent traditional foods. The Indian food in Little India is fragrant and nice, they serve vegetarian food too. Muslim food, especially the 'nasi briyani' is mouth-watering, is available in the Taman Intan area. There are also many airconditioned restaurants of which many are halal certified.

After filling the stomach, you can make off to the eco farm around 1.00pm!

“need more improvment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

Situated at KM 43, Jalan Mersing, this is the one and only organic rice farm in the country, around 200 acres,is a fully integrated organic agro eco farm with pollution free river water irrigating the farmland from the 1,010m Belumut mountain.

for daily entrance, it is RM10.00/pax (Age 13 & above) RM5.00 / pax (Age 7 to12) Age 6 & below FOC.
-many activity can be done , such as water obstacle, guide-tour, boat rowing, duck-farm visiting etc. each will charge RM 5 per person.
-better do a booking first before going, there are overnight pacage, where visitor can be stay at chalet, floating house, or tent, regarding your need.

1It is very educational place and very nature, if tight of time, just join the guide-tour to get walk around the farm for one hour, will make tour trip meaningful.

2 View is good and green. especislly the rice field view, and also the lake.

3. Easy to acess: from Highway PLUS, exit at Kluang/AirHitam, than follow the Mersing signboard, after aroud 58km driving, you will see this farm at your right hand side. You will pass by Kluang town, than Kampung Gajah, than Kahang village. Just after the big entrance near Kg Orang Asli Peta for Endau Rompin National Park. Easy to said, it is on the way from Kluang to Mersing, transit town to Tioman Island.Route from Kluang to Kahang Miles 23 (the farm located at Miles 26)is quite curvy.

4.If you are from Mersing, or Johor Bahru, take Kluang road.

1. Need more improvement in man-power. Realise that it is almost like one-man show: guide+counter+guide at main entrance, and others job, done by one main person. We wait for 45 minit for walking tour, after finish listen to briefing.

2. Breifing part: one small television, with 28" size screen, and the owner , actually give good explanation, but can only focus to front roll audience, where all visitor sitting at 'Assembly Part' (sorry to said that this assembly hall is run like out-dated, really need improvement in this facilities). some more the briefing is given in mandarin, for those who are Non-Chinese educated visitor, it make bored and sleepy.

3. While waiting for the tour guide, program shown in TV was Chinese Opera Program...quite unique combination.

anyway, it is worth to visit place, with all nature things and non polluted environment there.
