“Awesome looking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

I stepped in to view a double-bed room while I was searching for a place to stay in Kluang.

Reception area was on 1st floor (you need to climb up the stairs, mind you). Staff were warm and polite. Rooms were newly and handsomely done but there wasn't any new-paint smell. Pricing was on the higher side but I guess it would worth the price.

I turned away due to the fact that it had no elevators and my wife was pregnant hence it would be a hassle if she had to climb the stairs. We roamed around Kluang, viewed many hotels/inns, found this place called Imperial Hotel, checked in and never looked back since.

Room Tip: Awesome place to stay, if you don't mind climbing the stairs.

This place was a surprise to me, it is just a shoplot and i thOught i was going to have a sleepless night here but when i arrived into my room it was just like any 5 star hotel bedroom(minus the carpets) and oh how i love the shower its even better than some of the 5 star hotels in JB itself. If you ever are in keluang i highly recommend this place.

1. Coming in from the Singapore thru' the CIQ was a breeze - guess it must have been Christmas Day, so there were not many vehicles
2. Smoooooth 1.5hrs drive along the N-S Hwy turning off at the Ayer Hitam Exit
3. Was not difficult locating the hotel if you pay attention to the Tasik Sign upon approaching the round-about turn. The hotel is at the 3 o'clock turn off and on the left hand side of the road at the first turn to the left
4. As there weren't many people checking in, it was a breeze for a 3pm check-in
5. We were early coming in at 2:30pm, so we spent our time at the convenient store below the hotel

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 104 which is very spacious Everything we need is within the room 1. TV 2. Fre...

Stayed here for one night in Family's room. They have extremely spacious extremely room and you can add one more bed for your family member apart from the 3pax. If there is anything to improve, lift is appreciated. Other than that, I find my stay here with my family cozy and pleasant.

Room Tip: request for rooms with windows as some do not have

This is a boutique hotel which is great value. The family suite has a king bed and a single bed but enough floor space to put a couple more mattresses. Nice bathroom fixtures for a hotel of this price range. The room has numerous plug points for convenient charging of our mobile devices. Wifi is free.

The breakfast is awesome as it is served in the famous Kluang Railway Coffee outlet downstairs. There is also ample parking space. The only setback is that rooms are not well insulated so there is a tendency to hear noises from the surroundings.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

I booked this hotel because of all the positive reviews but was hugely disappointed. The hotel occupies the top 2 floors of a shophouse and if you have mobility problems forget about staying here because you have to climb up the staircase. Room was not bad and the bathroom was better than standard.
Noise insulation was non existent and you could here your neighbours visiting the toilet at night, flushing and talking in the reception area. I had to put a towel against the door lest they hear my loud snoring!
There were no other food outlets nearby except for the very busy coffee shop downstairs. You were supposed to get breakfast there but try fighting for a table because the place is open to the public. Only good thing was they accepted my meal voucher at other times.
Just cannot agree with the other reviews. This is no better than a guest house in other countries.
No complaints about customer service although it was minimal.
My room rate was double that of other shophouse hotels in the city.

Room Tip: Look elsewhere if you do not need to be in the vicinity.
