“Can be better......”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Just got back last nite after a 4 days stay with my wife.

Yes - the place is everything as described by all the reviewers.

The scenery is simply stunning.

The sun and the surf is an intoxicating mix.

We had some initial hiccup with our check-in (booked the ocean view) and we were given Room 222 (actual view of hole No. 6) and a small opening of the ocean. After a little knock-on-the-head, we were assigned Room 452. Direct pool and ocean view.

The only problem was walking up and down as there seems to be only 2 elevators in the whole complex

The hotel is "getting old" - bathroom is not cleaned properly. The pillows are lumpy...but overall they are doing everything they can ....It's amazing every single lightbulb works in this huge complex. Just observe this when you drive in/out of the complex.

Spa - if you want a couple's room - for a massage with your spouse .... scratch that idea !!

The aircon is weak ( even in the single's room and at 4 in the afternoon ). The couple's room opens into a sunken jacuzzi (but someone has forgotton to seal up the foot or so gap between the wall and roof) so it was a sauna in the massage room for both of us and the poor masseurs !! Our 2 hours massage was a washout.

Walk to Tahanlot - during low tide - worth your time and efforts.

Golf - if you are a golfer - you must try out the No 1 most beautiful golf in Asia ( the caddies say that ). Never seen so many golfers stop and whip out their cameras at holes 6/7.

Food - if you are a non-meat eater (like us) - tough luck - as choice is very limited. We ended up eating only vegetarian nasi goreng or mee goreng. The restaurant don't even offer pizzas.

Prices are expensive (just like any resorts) you just have to pay for the 5 stars services and views.

Go - if you want fantastic views, great golf and doing absolutely nothing - hanging out by the pool

Don't choose this hotel - if you want 24 hours bars, restaurants, shopping round the corner

Room Tip: avoid Room 222 if you want a proper sea view

We stayed at Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali twice, and found they're well improved very soon,, perfectly renew comphare to our previous visit last year. Our room at #356 is perfect for family as it was close to brand new kids club, the pools with waterslides (where our favorite place) and other exotic venue within the resort. Very clean, comfort and enjoyable. The check in is very express and served in very warmth courtesy.

We met the General Manager, Mr John Berndt, who greet us during the breakfast and he always display his oversee for entire resort's operation tightly. Mr Sebastian the FB Manager is very nice guy and pay attention for every single detail as we can proof during the breakfast at the Merica Restaurant or while enjoying buffet lunch at the Pool Grill Restaurant, everything is perfect under his supervision : the food, services and display.

We can see the magnificient sunset with Tanah Lot temple silloute from any area of this beautiful resort. You won't be bored during your holiday here.

I have no doubt to recommend this resort for a quality holiday in Island of Paradise. Will come back for the next holiday certainly.

This resort is a real gem. The setting is breathtaking. The facilities excellent and the staff wonderful. From a sumptuous buffet breakfast to personal attention at the many swimming pools to many f and b outlets and entertainment, there is so much on offer even seniors use the water slide! We had a brilliant time. Can't recommend enough for everyone. Many wedding guests said they would bring friends back. That speaks volumes for excellence in every respect.

Room Tip: Choose a room near the pools if you have children. If youbwant quiet, choose. A room facing the gol...

We recently had five days at the Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort. This is definitely the way to do Bali! Although the resort is about an hour's drive from the airport, being so secluded is perfect if you do not want to go into Kuta or Seminyak on a regular basis. The staff here cannot do enough for you and treat you like royalty. We joined the Pan Pacific Club at an extra cost of $50 per day ($25/head) and this was the best $50 we have ever spent. Membership gives you a full breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, coffee, tea non alcoholic drinks and snacks from 6.30am to 11.00pm, non alcoholic drinks from your mini bar and 4 items of clothing laundered per day. We did not end up eating at any of the on site restaurants because of all the food/drink we had access to during the day. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an ocean view.

Excellent newly renovated hotel. Beautiful setting, pools and rooms - best we've stayed in for a long time. Food very good, service in pool bar a bit slow. Free transport to nearby towns on the coast - cheap taxis back. Great golf. You must go!

This hotel was overall excellent and basically worth the 5 star rating. It was about 50 minutes drive from Kuta (outside peak hour traffic) and 28 minutes drive from Seminyak. Add about 15 minutes more if travelling during peak hour. A 30 minute drive in a taxi (by the meter) cost us $80,000 rupiah (about $9 Australian, very cheap). Or you can get almost any hire car driver to drive you around the entire Bali island, or stop and hang around somewhere while you eat/shop, for betweem $200,000 for 3 hours - $500,000 rupiah for 12 hours (about $22 - $55 australian dollars). Most drivers will be happy to take you on a private all day tour of the country-side, volcano etc for Aus$50 for 12 hours. I don't know how they do it this cheap but they all charge these prices and their cars are kept to a high standard from what I saw. We used a driver who spoke very good English and Japanese. His website is balimadetour .com (his name strangely enough is Made--pronounced Marday). I thought I'd give him a plug because he's self employed and just a descent bloke. There were a lot of drivers who spoke english but this Balinese chap was totally professional and had a great car and understood what the tourist was looking for.
We stayed 10 days at the hotel which was right next to Tanah Lot temple (great view but not much else). The hotel had really fantastic pools and views and the room met my 5 star standard. Great room decor, linen and the king size bed was fantastic. We stayed in a pool view which also had a small view of the ocean (room 348) and it was just so relaxing. There were however, excellent views from most of the rooms from what I saw, possibly even the golf view rooms (which I didn't see). Every part of the hotel was great. I even used the gym which was well equipped and my wife said the spa was great too ($30 for a pedicure she told me-I'm not sure if that's cheap or not). I missed out on playing on their golf course but be prepared to pay $1,100,000 rupiah (Aus$100) per game (hotel guest price only) plus $40 for club hire and $20 for shoes. A great looking course though and you're accompanied by a caddy all the way. Given how hot and humid it is golf starts at 7am, or you can do the 3pm afternoon/night round. I'm not sure if you can go at other times but you wouldn't want to as it's just very hot and humid (it feels like about 37 degrees celcius (maybe 95F) and 85% humidity in the sun).
We dined at the hotel on two nights and the food standard was comparable to very good quality dining in Australia. We payed about $220,000 rupiah ($22 australian dollars) for a main mean (wine can be expensive though). Most nights we went to Seminyak for dinner and the prices were the same, although I'm sure you could get it cheaper at some lower class restuarants. Food quality was pretty darn good at the better restaurants and you can have western food or indonesian style food, all well presented and tasty. After 9 days I started to wish Seminyak was closer (for dinner) but you're on holidays so the drive is ok. Just remember to put aside Aus$20 extra for the return drive to Seminyak each night. The hotel does have a free mini bus service to Seminyak which leaves at 9am, 12pm and 3pm. They really should have another service at 6pm and later but I guess the taxi is so cheap that you can pay for it yourself. We went to a superb restaurant in Seminyak called Sarong which was as good as the best restaurant in Sydney and about Aus$115 for 2 people (depending on how much you drink/eat etc). Generally no tipping is required in Bali.
If you want to travel to Kuta each night then this is not the hotel for you due to the 50 minute drive. It's only approx 25km's (14miles) to Kuta and the roads are pretty smooth, but they're small and there's a fair amount of traffic.
If you want a relaxing holiday by tranquil and beautifully landscaped pools, with cliff top ocean views and you only want to do 1 or 3 tourist day trips during your trip, and you don't mind either dining at the hotel or being driven 25 minutes to Seminyak for dinner, then I highly recommend this hotel. The hotel does not have a swimming beach and it's not for party animals or bogans who want to eat MacDonalds every night. There were some children at the resort and they seemed very happy, particularly with the 3 pools and water slide (adults will love this too), but I would say it is more a hotel for adults who want to relax at a place where there isn't a lot of kids (we were there during the school holidays, but even then the kids weren't a problem).
The service at the hotel was what you would expect from a 5 star. There are basically 2 restaurants at the hotel, one outside near the pool and one in the breakfast area. I expected there to be another formal style restaurant but there wasn't one, which was probably the only disappointing thing about the hotel. We didn't let this deter us though as the food at the other restaurants was varied and tasty and we went into Seminyak most nights anyway.
Day trips to the volcano, elephant farms and white water rafting take about 2 hours to get to and cost Aus$35 per person...again very cheap. Tourist companies have no problem picking you up from your hotel in a private car for an extra $5 (it takes 2 hours to get to the volcano or rafting from Kuta anyway, so the distance from this hotel for day trips is no problem).
All in all I would absolutely recomend this hotel for couples wanting a relaxing holiday.

When traveling this part of Bali, Pan Pacific is a good choice to spend couple nights in. The hotel provides many different facets that a guest discovers gently and gradually while the final impression is unforgettable. The memories get even stronger after you look back couple months later. Sunset at Tanah Lot or nearby Batu-Bolong temples are so spectacular that truly compete with most beautiful sights in Bali. Spacious and empty golf fields surrounding hotel gives contrast with over populated areas like Kuta or industrial Negara. When filled of viewing the nature around you may enjoy food in couple restaurants in the hotel, lay down near the pool cascades or sense the waves striking the rock cliff while relaxing in gazebo. The Nirvana is so closed ...
