The whole, idea of,the biorock is so great. The structures are so interesting. It is wonderful that so many people are dedicated to cultivating coral. Kudos to all!

“Easy snorkeling right off the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Snorkeling at Biorock in Pemuteran is so easy!!! You simply go in the water, directly from the beach, and there are tons of fish and beautiful corals. The kids were really excited to see some clown-fish (just like Nemo) and we even saw an octopus!

“World class! Free! Wheelchair access.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

Where else can you just walk off a lovely beach into a fabulous coral reef. It is right there, just a few meters into the water. The water itself is so salty that even non swimmers bob around like corks. No effort necessary. What is necessary is sunscreen and or a t-shirt since time passes quickly as you float around above the massive heads of coral and all the fish and you will be burned to a crisp an time of the year.

There are no stalls or touts on this beach so do bring your own food and water. There are high priced restaurants at the resorts directly behind the beach though. You can hire goggles and snorkel on the beach.

“A fantastic wonderland of manmade coral”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

For any diver who understands the danger our coral reefs face this is a must see. The effort that has gone into Biorock is mind boggling. I thought I would see a small metal frame with a few scraggly corals. What I actually saw was a huge area of amazing metal frameworks in every shape imaginable some so covered in coral you could not see the frame.
This is certainly a great thing to witness as a diver.

This is by no means the same as a natural reef but the level of growth and the number of fish is amazing and encouraging.

My compliments to the hard working people who maintain the site.

“A must visit if you are in Pemuteran”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014

We went diving and snorkeling here and it is just beautiful and unique. There were lots of fishes and corals as well as you get to see the effort they put in to conserve the corals. You can even sponsor a baby coral and have your name welded to grow the corals on. Talk about contributing for a good cause! Highly recommended!
