“Great job in restoring the corals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

This is a great community project and after 13 years the corals look wonderful especially on the older structures. Great for snorkeling and easy entry from the beach. The power cables, even though they are necessary, could be hidden better though.

“Best Bali eco experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

If you are a novice at snorkelling or travelling with the family then this is a "must do" experience. The Biorock Project is just a few meters off the beach so there is no effort to jump in and snorkel right up to the various sculptures and structures that were, years ago, "planted" with baby coral and these have since rapidly developed into a very interesting "reef" to snorkel over. If you are with young kids or those who are not keen to swim, then there is a glass bottom boat from which you can also view the project - best to pick a clear day for this. If you are inexperienced in the water then you will find that the Dive Academy staff are a great help, friendly and very supportive. Pemuteran Bay itself is calm and the water is safe, unlike some of the the Bali southern beaches. The beach is wonderfully quiet with credit due to the Pemuteran hotels being wise enough not to allow those noisy and reef-damaging jet skis - so after your swim you can enjoy a nice cool drink, a deck chair on the beach under a nice breezy tree in front of the Taman Sari Resort where you find the cleanest beach and no noisy bars. What a great way to spend a day or two, or more, just perfect. No wonder that the Biorock Pemuteran experience is an essential part for a perfect Bali holiday. The ecological factor of it all is an extra bonus.

“So glad to see efforts to protect Indonesia's coral!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Creative and passionate efforts to save the local coral have led to these interesting underwater structures. I'm so glad people are trying!

While not quite as impressive as I initially expected it's still very cool and worth a short paddle off the beach to see. The coral is obviously still growing and hasn't completely covered the frames yet. It must be helping since there are some lovely corals and fish to see!

Look for the cable running into the ocean and the pillar out in the waves to know where to look.

“Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

What a great ecological idea. This structure brings a diverse range of sealife to this amazing area. I dived here with Bali Dive Academy and my longest dive ever of 80 minutes. I even saw a couple of seahorses.
