“Great fun and great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

We went to this warung twice. Limited menu, but lovely food and beautiful presentation. We agreed it is slightly softened for western taste, but still a very good meal for a great price. Service was friendly and efficient. The courtyard is a nice place to sit and watch the various groups and meals come and go. They are remarkably generous with gin, which makes for an interesting walk back along the beach!

“Delicious attention to detail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

The courtyard garden provides a lovely setting for a traditional Balinese meal, if a little close to the main road. The food was delicious, and the presentation (each plate with its own flower arrangement) immaculate. Dishes could be more highly flavoured (they seem to be a little dumbed down to suit western tastes) - but this is easily fixed by asking for them to be served spicy. The dishes you have to pre-order like bebek betutu (Balinese duck cooked for the entire afternoon) are truly sublime. The portions could be bigger - but that just leaves room for dessert - sticky fried bananas - addictive. And there's not too much mark-up on the wine.

“Good, inexpensive food but small portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013 via mobile

The food is very good and inexpensive. The atmosphere of this open-air dining is very nice: it has a small courtyard, two overhead fans, and Balinese music playing. The service is quick and attentive. My only complaint is that the meal portions are small, so you will definitely want to order an appetizer.

The milkshakes are great and reasonably priced!

“You get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

Tiny portions, westernised tastes, and cheap prices. Being guests of Tirta Sari, we have eaten both the meagre breakfasts and the meagre main meals that are offered up for dinner. There has to be better places in Permuteran than this?
