“Two more Greeks in Ubud (the sequel)!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We picked this hotel as part of our stay in Bali. Overall, this is a hotel that satisfies your senses!
The staff is kind, polite & always with a smile. The location is magnificent, as it is situated in the jungle with no other nearby resorts. It is an ideal place for someone that is in search of peace & quiet. Each "bugalow" seems to be detached from the rest due to the heavy vegetation, offering privacy on the balcony! The room is super spacious, resulting to a bathroom equal to the bedroom!

The food is very nice, as well as the prices. However, breakfast could use some additions (for a 5-star resort). The pool location is really nice.

One thing you must try is "spa treatment by the river" that will be solely booked for you (I'm referring to the river side)! The only disadvatage is the 200 steps that lead to the river (especially after the spa...)!

This hotel is the perfect place is you want to be quiet and relax: few villas, located between the jungle and the rice flelds, a bit far from Ubud (which is not a pain).
The service is amazing, the staff is always here to make your stay unforgettable, with humour and respect!
The food from the restaurant is not really great and a bit expensive; the hotel is not brand new; and there is no gym..
But these appart, you will never forget your stay and I would warmly recommend it to anybody looking for something special!

Room Tip: the higher, the better (I was in #8, which seems to be the one with the best view)

We chose this hotel from its amazing website and photos. After arriving in Ubud we were told the hotel was 30 minutes from Ubud town centre. Whilst a lovely jungle experience and friendly staff the hotel is old, run down and very over priced. For 3 travellers we paid $100 each for the night. We got a double bed and a mattress on the floor. The room was mouldy, skirting around bedding was old and mattered, stains on mosquito net, grim in bathroom sink just to name a few. Overall, this was the end of our trip and the most expexensive night yet the place and a huge disappointment.

We didnt plan for it, we had only 5 days in total that was planned in Ubud, but after three days in the busy area of Ubud we decided to change scenery. So we called and they were amazing enough to give us an amazing room with great rate.
It was superb, two nights we spent that were really blissful.
The massage on the river which is a must is incredible.
Rooms were great, spacious, the view is charming as is the pool and the jacuzzi.
Massage folks were magicians!
Breakfast was also amazing and delicious.
Iwan Thanks a lot.

I am surprised this place is so badly ranked. I must say I was there 2 years ago and I can't stop thinking how good the massage was. It was definitely the best I've been and yes... I have been to a lot of massages. The room was not the greatest but it was nicely setup, clean and had a good view. The place was located far from everywhere but that was exactly what my wife and I were after. The food were really nice so we were basically self-sufficient. I don't remember Nandini having a gym, yoga, cooking class or any activities so it will be the best if they can look into this and everything will be purrrfect!

A fantastic setting and blissful after a week at the beach. Fabulous massage, uber helpful staff and lovely walk to the 'Silent Hut' - a must for any visitor. Only small negative was that the villa was rather dated - comfortable, but could do with an overhaul.
Also, we were not aware of the steps when booking - not a problem for us as we are fit (and it was good to burn a few calories!) - but be aware if you are elderly or have mobility problems....
For those that can, walk down to the river - well worth it.
Food excellent, if a bit pricey.
Overall, I would definitely go back, but only good for short stay due to remoteness.

Room Tip: Difficult to say, as we only saw ours, but maybe stay away from the pool and main stairway...
