While visiting Independence with my family to learn all about Harry Truman, we decided to jump on the wagon and saddle up for the 60 minute tour.
They do offer different deals at different prices: $7 pp for the 15-20 min tour; $15pp for the 30-35 min tour; $25pp for the 60-75 min tour with children 12 and under ride for $7 on all tours.
The stagecoach is pulled by two Missouri Mules who do an excellent job considering the load they are hauling. Our driver was AMAZING! He was very animated and knowledgable and made the tour so much fun!
Our particular tour consisted for a full city tour which includes the 1859 jail. 1827 log courthouse, the story of "Wild Bill" Hickcock, the Bingham Waggoner Estate and National Frontier Trails Center, a ride on the Sante Fe Trail through the actual wagon swales, the history of the Quantrill's Raiders and the feud between Missouri and Kansas, the James Brothers, Civil War battefields, Canon Hill, Bess Truman's house where she was born and other historical homes.
The ride was so much fun and my kids were truly entertained (ages 9 and 12). I would definitely recommend to try it out if you are in the area. You won't be sorry!!!!
