“One of the Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2011

I have visited a number of presidential libraries, and all have added to my knowledge of American history, politics, and presidential leadership. Of the presidential libraries I have visited, the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum is one of the best. It is laid out exceptionally well and the lighting is conducive to taking photographs. In addition, the volunteer docents are knowledgeable, friendly, and accessible. The exhibits cover Truman's life and times and there are a number of interactive features that enhance the learning experience. Also available is a replica of Truman's Oval Office, his personal office in the Library, and his grave site. This is an exceptional museum.

“Terrific look at history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2011

After having visited several Presidential libraries, we think this is one of the best. The facility is easy to access, the staff is very helpful, and the exhibits are completely engaging. They have a variety of special exhibits too. Our kids loved the interactive portions of the museum and gained a whole new perspective on the 1950's and the historical events that took place during Truman's presidency. Don't overlook the Thomas Hart Benton painting in the lobby - it is stunning.

“Truly enjoyed this, it is very well done and well organized”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2011

I have only visited 3 Presidential libraries and they are all good and this one did not disappoint. The staff was very helpful, the videos were excellent and contained useful information. We spent about 3 hours at the Library and clearly could have spent more but we were only in town for 1 day.
Lots of history here, President Truman had to make some tought decisions, at a very tenious time in World History, by all means if you are in the area, don;t miss it

“Excellent Museum Dedicated to this Underappreciated President”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2011

This Museum really gives you a good understanding of all that Truman had to deal with during his nearly 2 terms as president. For a child of the 50's it was eye opening. Good mix of his early life history and family life as well.

“When Times were Simpler (NOT)”

A visit to this Library will open your eyes to a man that struggled but was able to govern with dignity and respect.
