“Bali at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

This ecological village has everything the enlightened tourist would like to find in beautiful Bali.
Great location, total privacy in most villas, natural balinese atmosphere and all the comfort you need if the design of a 5 star hotel is not your basic requirement

Room Tip: We stayed in villa 24 which is completely private. Several villas seemed to offer a comparable level...

We have been visiting Padang Bai for many years and have always stayed in a cheap and cheerful guesthouse in the village, this time we decided to splurge a little and stayed at Bloo Lagoon. Wow, what a difference this made - and honestly, we would never consider staying anywhere else in town again. The resort clings to a headland with panoramic views over the Indian ocean, and Mount Agung - the towering volcano claimed by the Balinese as the abode of the gods. We stayed in a one bedroom villa, which I guess you could describe as rustic chic, with its walls of dark timber and semi outdoor bathroom overlooking the ocean. It was great to have a kitchen and dining table, and the four poster bed added a wonderful romantic allure. There was also a separate living area and patio downstairs. The villa is quite open to the elements which allowed for a fresh sea breeze. Breakfast is included, with fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereals as well as excellent coffee and a choice of eggs or pancakes. The pool is simply gorgeous, fringed with pink bougainvillea and palm trees, with white temple parasols set into the shallow end so you can lounge in the water under the shade. We really appreciated the eco friendly design of the resort, which includes solar panels, organic vegetable gardens, and beautiful water gardens that filter waste water. Staff are friendly and welcoming, while manager, Gede was particularly helpful and seems truly dedicated to maintaining the environmental integrity of the resort. We can't wait to go back!

Stayed five days in the Bloo Lagoon, early November 2013, far away from all the noise from the popular locations on Bali. The East Bali nature is around and it awesome. We stayed in villa 23 and the deck have a wonderful view wide view over the bay and the Gunung Agung volcano. Just lying on the bed was at the deck is so relaxing. The resort has their own restaurant, with very nice helpful staff, nice breakfast and meals, which they serve in your bungalow. The SPA at the Bloo Lagoon is excellent, very professional, some best massages ever had and for a price you go there every day.
And for the rest the taking care as well; snorkeling, hiring a car, arranging a driver dropping you of in Padaongbai for dinner etc.
Again a very good experience, really worth every penny.

Room Tip: Villa 23 with two double beds

We were so lucky to find this beautiful resort, which we think may the best in Bali - the real Bali with blossoms and fruit trees, breezes and one of the most beautiful views in the world. Excellent staff and delicious food. The staff were extremely helpful, welcoming and very nice people to chat with. In a few minutes walk you can be in the beautiful uncrowded bloo lagoon beach, which was excellent for snorkelling, swimming and relaxing. We saw exotic fish, including little Nemo fish, and fish of all colours of the rainbow. Also nearby is Padangbai, a lovely unspoiled fishing village with a selection of nice cafes right along the edge of the water. The resort staff also arranged at very short notice to take us by van to Ubud and to Candidasa to see the sights. They arranged transport to and from the airport - it was very smooth. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had a two bedroom villa overlooking the the volcano and the bay - with two outdoor bathrooms and...

We are just back from a few days in Bali where we stayed at this Bloo Lagoon ecoresort. Excellent stay. We had a 3 room villa. Excellent for our family (3 kids).
Clean, very friendly staff, and amizing view on the sea.
Breakfast was good, as well as meals at the restaurant, altough service is too slow when there are too many guest.
Snorkeling is very nice at the bloo lagoon beach. The divers we met were also very happy of the diving around, but we did not try. We did try the spa however, with a hot stone massage : wonderful and rather good value.
It is an excellent adress !
PS: be careful if you are a night owl : not much to do in Padangbai .... Not even good shopping, just relaxing ....

Room Tip: Ask for a bungalow with a view on Candidasa bay; not on Padangbai bay. Pandangbai has a lot of noisy...

There is not much to add to the previous nice reviews, so I will tell what to be aware of.
We stayed in a 1-bedroom villa, with the bedroom upstairs with the fantastic view, and the AC downstairs in what we consider and extra room with a sofa.
So if you require a cool place to sleep - order it when you book
The thatched houses are open - you can watch the colourful birds and butterflies in the garden with many flowers, there are monkeys in the trees around the house (not aggressive), but it also means free access for mozzies, bees and other insects that I do not know the name of.
At night the sounds of the frogs, geckos and lizards may keep you awake - or you may enjoy and fall asleep to all the buzzing.
The staff is excellent, service minded and always smiling, the girls in the kitchen sing seem to enjoy their work especially for breakfast - which as others already told is excellent.
5 minutes walk down the hill and you are at the Blue Lagoon Beach with excellent snorkeling and diving.
You want to go out - there are several restaurants in Padang Bai and the hotel shuttle is quick and free.
We enjoyed it and if you like nature, good food and excellent staff you will too

Room Tip: Check if there is AC in the room when booking

The Bloo Lagoon is a unique experience combining beautiful accommodations open to nature; an amazing view; and service given by outstanding staff. The outdoor bathrooms and open bedrooms allow you to merge with best of Bali's beauty. The view from my bedroom and deck looked like something out of a Hollywood film. The staff, led by Gede provide top notch food and spa service with joy and caring. I would definitely stay again at the Bloo Lagoon.

Room Tip: Request ocean view if that is your preference.
