I stayed in The Akmani Legian Hotel last week for a 5 days business trip in Bali. This hotel is tucked in the busy street of Legian Raya. The entrance is small but when you walk in to the hotel, it is a completely different story.
I found a good deal from www.asiarooms.com and decided to try out this new property in Legian.
When checking in, I receive a letter from the hotel management and understood that the hotel is still on its pre-opening stages and the grand opening will be on 1 March 2013. No wonder there were some minor ongoing works during my stay. Well, the good thing is that it never bothered me at all... there wasn't any noise disruption at all.
This hotel has a unique concept. All the interior and furniture revolves around an eco-friendly and vintage theme. I stayed in the Pool Access Grand Deluxe Room. First impression is that the room is spacious enough for my needs. I have a working space, a king size bed, a dressing table, compartment to put my luggage and hang my clothes. The bathroom itself has a corner for standing shower and also a bathtub. Well, the best part of this room is that, you can slide open the door facing the swimming pool... and one can just chill by the pool or simply jump in for a swim!
The breakfast is simple and lovely. It's cooked breakfast and one has option of either continental, American or Indonesian breakfast. The Mee Goreng (Indonesia) is recommended!
The other winning point of this hotel is the location itself. It's located in one of the busiest spot in Bali - Legian. There are plenty of shops, convenient stores, spa, factory outlets, eateries, restaurant, clubs and bars ... all within walking distance. Also, the beach is just 10 minutes walk away.
I think there are some facilities that are not ready yet as I did not notice any spa or gym in the hotel. Perhaps they are still under construction.
Overall, the service is good... the room is clean, simple and practical... location is very convenient... the concept is unique and you feel relaxed whenever you come back to this hotel after a long day....
There are 2 things I would suggest to the hotel:
1. Some pillow options
2. More power points/plugs in the room (perhaps 1 at the bedside)
Other than that, I think it's a hotel with great value for money! I would stay there again!
