Have stayed in these apartments before....beware of the private apartments. Booked in good faith. Turned out to be absolutely disgusting. Could not touch anything in the apartment for fear of picking up something. Been to Bali 6 times and don't get me wrong...brilliant place for a holiday...we paid for our two nights but could not get the hotel to help as private...Hendaru then issued an email threatening to have us in the District Court and stopping us at immigration on the way home. Also advised we had stolen a deck chair..wtf..only paid part of the monies on the balance of not staying due to group being scared off. We got home safe...but strangely enough...out of the six of us...five have come down with carbuncles, boils etc. Never happened in Bali before...stay away from this deal on the internet as the hotel management just kept saying..privately owned. We not only had to deal with our plight but every time we went to reception to get the problem sorted...someone else was having very similar problems...STAY AWAY

We have recenetly stayed at the Jayakarta Hotel and I have to say it was great. This is our 4th trip to Bali and we have stayed at four different hotels. We stayed at this hotel not by choice but because we missed our original flights and had to re book. From the time we were greeted at reception to the time we left we had no complaints and we have stayed at the Mandira , Melasti and in Nusa Dua .

The rooms were clean , tidy and a good size , the restaurents had great food , the staff were fantastic and the pools (all three of them) were big and enough space to have a good swim.

It is a family hotel so if you want peace and quiet with no kids , dont stay there.

It is walking distance to all the good restaurents on the beach front at Seminyak, there is a cheap and cheerful restaurent called Tropical just outside the front door on the left and th staff were funny , (ha ha not peculiar). Its only a 30 min walk to Kuta and there is a shuttle bus if you dont like walking.

If you leave the front of the hotel ( not the beach side ) turn left and continue left around the windy streets you will eventally come to a street that has some of the best shopping .Not the usual crap that you get from Poppies Lane, the store ownners are really lovely. Most Balineses speak good English , they are a gentle culture and enjoy having tourists in their country . If it wasnt for the 7000 tourists that arrive in Bali every day they would not be able to make the imptrovements that they have been making. The roads are getting better all the time .

There is something for everyone in Bali you just have to know what you want before you go there .

I paid for 3 women and myself to stay in 2 1 bedroom apartments, we arrived and first over looking building site (ok it happens) got given king beds ment to have twin beds asked for linen for pullout lounge never arrived,ripped curtains, lounge fridge and T.V did'nt work carpet stained all over, walls marked,VERY DIRTY! Let me say i have stayed in many hotels in Bali never seen anything like it,we were told we would get moved in 3 days then they tried to say there were no rooms left so i stood my ground finaly got given 2 basic rooms with no compensation..nice relaxed holiday NOT!!!!

Stayed for 5 nights in December 09. The pools are good, the rooms are very old and worn. By Bali standards, the hotel is very, very expensive. It is on a great beachfront location with surf and beautiful sunsets, and is only a short walk to some cheaper, much better restaurants. It is a very large hotel with almost 400 rooms, there are alot of people in their 20s that stay here. There is often events held here such as pool parties but i would recommend looking at another hotel.
