“excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Absolutely loved this place! This hotel is a 3 star so keep that in mind but I found everything to be as it is described, lovely staff, great pool and right on the beach. It is affordable and is really balinese themed so you don't feel like you are in a hotel just anywhere! Would definitely stay again!

When first drove in to the Jayakarta I saw big blocks of flats and then once kept driving towards reception area, I forgot about the flats and enjoyed looking at the beautiful gardens and hotel rooms and I couldn't believe how massive this resort once. Once checked in I found out I was staying at the apartments which were like the flats I saw when drove in, I was a little disappointed as from the outside they looked old and run down however, the room was clean, comfortable and very spacious. The furniture was a little outdated though. They were self contained with a microwave and a kitchen.

I only paid about $80 a night though so believe this was fantastic value. The pools (4 of them), 3 joined together and another by itself, were all beautiful. The breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from.

I would stay again but probably just in the hotel room as the apartments are also a long way from the pool and reception area. Improvement could be made by staff walking around the pool taking drink orders and believe there is no children's club but I was there without the kids this time so that was okay. There is lovely childrens playground with old fashioned rocking horses that were beautiful.

I've stayed here three times in the past, chose to stay somewhere else this December/January and regret it.

Location and facilities are second to none, and all staff are helpful. Particularly Martin.

Rooms are relatively small so would recommend staying in one of the apartments as this was much more luxurious and plenty of room for groups.

Comfortable well-appointed hotel with good pool and facilities, excellent, friendly staff, lovely well-tended gardens. Easy taxi access to Senggigi, etc. on a beach which is unfortunately very polluted, covered in rubbish. The hotel attempts to clean the portion of beach in front of the hotel but are fighting a losing battle as local residents regard the beach as their rubbish dump. If the beach is not important, the hotel itself is well worth considering as a base for chilling out or visiting local attractions such as Senggigi or Gili islands.

This would have to be the worst hotel I have stayed in over the 10 times I have been to Bali. Dirty, dinghy, depressing. The staff at breakfast just stood around texting, while food trays were empty. Just don't do it.

This was our 2nd stay at Jayakarta in the private apartments, and we can't wait to go back!
We booked again through Putu @ Tic Bali, you can find them on the internet at www.ticbali.com. He is a great guy to deal with, nothing is too much trouble and he will go out of his way to ensure your stay lives up to your expectations every time.
Our apartment was on the 4th floor, was spotlessly clean and had a well equipped self-contained kitchen with plenty of western power adaptors supplied. There was a flat screen TV & DVD player in the lounge, and another TV in the bedroom. Our apartment was serviced every day, lovely cool air conditioning and even had pool towels supplied! The main bed was a kingsize and soooo comfortable. We were allowed to make use of all the facilities and swimming pools @ Jayakarta, and the grounds are still as beautiful and well kept as the last time we stayed.
We also booked a few tours and activities through Putu and he ensured we got a great discount every time, it was also such a convenience to be able to pay credit card...and have the staff come to US for payment when it suited us!! Putu also arranged a visit to the local orphanage for us at our request, and even drove us there & back himself, despite the fact he is very busy running his business.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment, or any bookings through Putu - I know you will have a wonderful stay and be looked after as well as we were by him & his Staff!

Stayed for 10 days back in Sept. for a boys trip (older boys, all 40+) for the AFL grand final weekend. As we all have families, we can recommend as a good spot for those with kids. Our rooms were clean and tidy and the staff were fine. Breakfast was busy if you were running a bit late, and we only found the second breakfast area towards the end of our stay. Only negative is the price of the Bintang at the pool bar. Its cheaper at the Padma. Over all a good spot and not bad for the price.
