“Great location out of the bustle of Kuta but close to everything.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2010

The Padma was a good find and located maybe 100 metres from the beach (Maybe less)...the fact that the beach was pretty dirty was not the hotels fault. The pool is large with an in pool bar (which is fairly small) and there are enough loungers for everyone. The rooms are large, well appointed and they have a large separate bathroom. They easily accommodated 3 teenagers. The staff were delightful and very helpful. The breakfast spread was good but we did not eat in the hotel for dinner. Pool snacks at lunch (if required) were also pretty good. The location is good IF you don't want nightlife in close proximity. There are more than enough places to eat and drink within 5 minutes walk. 6 seater taxis wait outside (don't get the hotel cars inside the are an expense you do not have) to bear. The blue cabs also work well if there are only 4 of you...they are metered (yes you do want it turned on) airconditioned and are very reasonable (read cheap). To give you an idea a cab to 'Eat Street' in Seminyak will cost around 17,000 (round up for goodness sake) and to Waterbom (good fun) in Tuban about 24,000. The larger 6 seaters are generally in pretty good condition, with aircon that works, and people are pretty negotiable. For your laundry take it 3 minutes up Jalan Padma to one of the laundry places that quite honestly you will want to bring home with you if only they fitted into your luggage.
Found some good places to eat on the shore at the West end of Jalan 66 (Double Six)..Zanzibar was our pick...but there are plenty of others. Ku De Ta is reckoned to be the spot to be at Sunset...if you need to be seen I guess it is. We preferred La Lucciola a little further up the coast. Shopping is all it is cracked up to be ..although I have to say every shop seems to sell the same range on Bintang T-shirts.
Uluwatu is worth the trip as is Tanah Lot (45 minutes to an hour away). The dive trip out on Bali Hai was also not bad ...as diving goes 6 or 7/10 but as a day for the family a 9/10.
Enjoy.

Dear our Valued Reviewer,

Warm Wishes from Padma Resort Bali at Legian!

I thank you for your positive review of our Resort and surrounding. It’s good to know that you found our Resort strategically located.

In January and February, the Legian beach can sometimes get a little dirty from the extra dirt carried by the wind from the west. Obviously, during these times, we intensify our beach cleaning activities to keep the beach as clean as possible.

Please don’t forget Padma Resort when you’re planning your next trip to Bali.

Best regards,

we stayed at the padma for 14 days it was absolutely wonderful and relaxing. the grounds are beautiful and the groundsmen work so hard everyday to keep up the standards. the pool is massive although some days is was quite warm but still refreshing. the renovations make no difference what so ever to your stay as they are on other side of complex. the food is great . went to the spa twice was nice to get spoilt for a change and it smells so nice in there. the only place we didnt eat was the japanese resturant as other half still thinks all japanese food is raw fish couldnt convince him other wise. the rooms are nice and clean the bathroom is huge we were lucky enough to get a separate shower and bath. the staff are friendly and they make you feel very welcome. it is amazing to think that they do all their building by hand and it is a credit to the balinese people for their beautiful work. the kids club looked nice and clean although did not go inside as we had no kids with us. we also used the laundry service try and cram as much in to bag as you can, its worth it. room service is very quick and not that expensive. i would highly recommend staying at the padma to everybodya

We recently stayed in a premier club chalet at the Padma resort in Legian Bali. We would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were exceptional helpful, graceful and willing to help in way.
The use of the Garden Club is well worth paying that little bit extra for. Complimentary drinks, tea, coffee, nibbles from 10am - 11pm and free cocktails from 5pm-7pm everynight.
This is a fantastic hotel and can recommend it for all age groups including families.

Our 4th trip to Bali and our first time at the Padma. We really enjoyed this hotel, there wasn't a thing we could complain about. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our daughter has a special diet and they even went out of their way to order gluten free food in for her breakfasts. We would definitely recommend the Padma.

We got married at this hotel in 2005 and it was just perfect.
Went back a few years later to recapture it all have and was left with a sour taste in our mouth which due to the staff at the hotel ruined our holiday and would never stay at the Padma every again and would never recommend it either JUST IN CASE THEY DID THE SAME TO THEM. If the staff in the Garden Club Lounge tell you "you have a extra nite" don't believe them. They told us we did, we changed out flights and all. Went out for the day to come back being locked out of our room, called liers and then charged over $450US to get our things out of the room and put in another for the nite. BE CAREFUL!!!!!

We spent six days here just before Christmas. Had room 651, a ground floor garden view room. Recently renovated, the room was stunning! A small entry hall leads into the bedroom with a kingsize bed, day bed in an alcove, flatscreen tv dvd player, long wall mounted shelf with a large mirror, mini bar, tea coffee etc. Sliding doors opened to a small patio area with table two chairs and a celing fan! A small courtyard type garden partially screened it from the passing guests. The bathroom was absolutely huge!
A vanity, separate bath tub toilet and shower area soooooooooooo big! Everything beautifully tiled and finished. Complimentary toiletries provided and topped up as needed. 3 free bottles of water a day. The renovations to the lobby and Taman Ayu restaurant are excellent. As is the refurbishment of the deli area adjacent to the lobby.
We took advantage of the pre xmas discounts offered, 50% for Seniors and ladies at themed dinners and the spa. We had a great Asian BBQ buffet on the 23rd, with a kecak dance and staff singing christmas carols! The range of food was excellent.
Breakfasts were very good, with a large selection from which to choose. There was also a special offer in the deli of coffee and two pieces of cake! Yum!
Security is good at the entrance. We felt very safe. This was our second stay and we will be back for a third!
