“Takeaway Pizza for the kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

Recommend breakfasts
Woodfired Pizza's were good.
Toasted cheese sandwich was made with delicious bread - juices were fine. Not the happiest of staff but place has a good feel and is very clean.

“delicious and cheap western fare”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

This surprising, tiny little cafe has some of the best pizza in SE Asia (and we've tried a lot of pizzas when we get tired of eating local food). The salads are delicious, fresh, and clean; the sandwiches are made on tasty homemade sourdough bread; the breakfasts are varied and huge and wonderful. Italian coffee, cold drinks, really superb juice concoctions. You really can't go wrong with this place, even if it is a little hard to find - it's worth the walk down the Gang!

“Great Pizza's!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We stayed in the same Gang as the Island - Gang Abdi. The atmosphere was one of peace and complete relaxation. I loved the low tables with bean bags for chilling out on. It was clean and the service was excellent. The staff were always polite and friendly.
We had lunch here twice and takeaway Pizza twice. All within an 8 day holiday!
Their wood fired Pizza’s are so yummy and had just the right amount of topping. Next time we'll definitely try something different off their menu.
We’re back in Sept 2013 and look forward to more great food!

“A jewel of a find in the heart of Legian.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2012

Sometimes, when you least expect it, you'll stumble apon a place that you'll never forget.
The Island cafe was an inviting oasis of warmth and conviviality. Its the perfect blend of chic, rustic and relaxed! We lounged, it seemed for hours, in true islands style....not wanting to leave, sipping on chilled beer and delicious woodfire oven pizza.

The Island Cafe is a true jewel of a find in the backstreets of Legian. A must visit!

“Wow what a difference six months makes...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2012

I first stumbled across this place (it is very hard to find down an alley) adjoining a small hotel in the backstreets of legian and it was a fairly unremarkable, barely passable but easily forgotten mish mash of a cafe. Generally cafes that are attached to hotels aren't very good (cause they don't have to be) and this place was very much in that category. They have obviously sub-let the food side of it to someone who knows what they are doing as it had improved out of sight and the cost was very much the same. Great wood fired pizza and also a pretty decent hamburger + plus drinks was very affordable and enjoyable. If this place keeps upping the ante then it will be a real destination place and worth the harrowing trip down the narrow passage to find it! Well worth a visit.
