My family and I (2 adults, 3 children under 9) have just returned from a two week stay at the Grand Kuta hotel in Legian. The first day we arrived I was utterly disappointed with the accommodation, the room was tiny (3 bdrm apartment) there was nowhere to sit on the balcony, the air con smelt of kerosene and the walls were bare of any pictures or wall hangings. We quickly discovered stains on towels and sheets which was a little gross. Before arriving at the hotel we were well aware that it was a budget hotel, but we were happy with what we saw on the website. Unfortunately the website was a far cry from what the hotel actually looks like. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, although others were not. The hotel drivers were very pushy and quick to try and rip you off. The breakfast was very basic and not very enjoyable. The Wi-Fi is non existent, although there is a computer in the lobby available for a fee...and although one internet voucher is supposed to last one hour and expire after a week, it actually expires immediately after you log off, even if you only used the internet for 10 minutes. Room service cleans your room daily, but tends to forget to restock fresh towels. Pool towels are rather hard to come by also and they seem to circulate the same 10 or so towels. The pool bar is empty and not in use. My sister had her nails done in the in house spa and the hadn't even taken the nail polish back to the cuticle, therefore looks as though a 5 yr old had. done them, her request for a refund was declined. The breakfast buffet was terrible and tables were covered in flies most days. The hotel is in now way close to any beach, taking about 10 minutes in a cab to the nearest beach and about 15 minutes into Kuta. All in all our stay at this hotel was disappointing! I love Bali and I love the Balinese people, but if you want to stay somewhere where you will have the true experience of the warm Balinese hospitality Grand Kuta is not the place! We stayed in the Aston Kuta during our last trip 2 years ago and had a wonderful time...Wish I had just stuck with what I knew and returned to the Aston!

I read a lot of reviews of this hotel before planning my holiday and after this I was apprehensive about staying here. We chose to stay here because they offered large family accommodation that was not a studio style apartment. However, after spending 12 nights here I found that a lot of the negative reviews were unfounded. The food offered at the breakfast buffet was fantastic and there was something different served every day. The menu catered to western and Asian palates (mainly Asian... after all we were in Bali) and was able to satisfy my fussy daughter with pancakes, cornflakes croissants and toast, which were served every day. The staff and service were exceptional, I have not received any better anywhere else. the decor was modern and well maintained. We had a room that was close to the reception area and there were no problems with noise. The positioning of the hotel I feel was ideal, Kuta is too busy, Legian has all the benefits of Kuta except in a more relaxed atmosphere. I felt comfortable at night walking my family to local restaurants and if you wish to travel further the staff were only too happy to organise a taxi or offer transport through their own car service, which was reasonably priced. They did not restock the minibar (thank god I have 3 kids).

Friend of mine recommends us about this property. Exterior just looks like any ordinary Condominium Hotel (Condotel) and located in the vicinity of Legian area – Bali.

Lobby little bit small, simple but comfortable. They have three swimming pools, and we found this as something exceptional. We were check-in the evening and my daughter was happy with the treatment they gave us, especially after long flight all the way from South America.

Because of the time difference we woke up a little bit late for breakfast, come to our surprised they send us breakfast in our room, and the food variety was excellent.

Our room is on the same level as the pools; its comfort and easy access to the pool. By the way, we stay in a unit with three bedrooms, and we like this kind of room especially we come as a family.

Cleanliness is beyond standard and very attention to detail; we agreed on this aspect this property is comparable to any five-star hotel, and food quality are excellent and overall service is unchallenged.

My wife, daughter, son and myself were happy to meet their staff, and I guess this is what Bali all about, hospitality is a priority in all aspects of life.

We stayed in this property for four days, and we have a chance to meet their management team almost all of them, including Exec Chef and the General Manager which is a lady.

Normally in another hotel is not easy to meet the management team, and one thing surprised us when we suggest or give them input about something they respond quickly and professionally.

“Our two thumbs” for the Grand Kuta. Thou the building little bit old, but doesn’t bother us at all as our main concern are services, cleanliness and most of all we can experience the warm hospitality of the Balinese people.

We stayed at Grand kuta for about one week and were happy with the stay.The room was decorated , comfortable. And quiet also , I really slept so good. The pool was lovely and so clean. The staff were helpful and friendly, good breakfast. Special thanks to General Manager Sri L. Aryani for the special service that you already done for us, definitely we will go back at Grand kuta again.

Personel was really friendly and helpfull , even the cook :). Best breakfast Ive ever eat in Indonesia ! The manager is really great , always ready to help. Room was spacious and straight acces to the pool. For going home free shuttlebus to the airport. Next time in Denpasar we come back here.

I spent three nights in Grand Kuta hotel in Bali. I have checked the hotel photos in the agoda.com, it was great. But when i get in the room i feel so shock as the room is really old. Then i found that the picture is only for the new building. Therefore, to have a good room I have to add 30USD more on my 75USD that i spent by agoda.com. The staff is not really friendly at the lobby, I called them for many times to received the services that i requested. This is my first time and also my last time staying at Grand Kuta Hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure that you pay for the new room not the old room in the old building.

We spent our holiday in Bali in another hotel but we had a midnight flight home and they could not accommodate us after1pm.
Grand Kuta was happy to provide a day room for around $38AUD .
We were happy with the welcome and used the great pool-towels provided. The room was adequate size if 2 were to stay over with small lounge area. Ground floor balcony- outdoor furniture would be a bonus.
Wifi was free but a bit slow and often disconnected.
We ate in the hotel restaurant $53 for 3 bintang,2 diet cokes, 3 starters and 3 mains. Food was perfectly acceptable though not outstanding.
Was great to have a shower and change just before checkout and bathroom was clean and water plentiful.
Staff were all happy to help. Location is good. $3 taxi to Double Six Beach. Across road from Cosmic Diner, Maccas and Dim Sum inc
Overall this hotel really suited our requirements
