“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Loved this hotel, right opposite the beach, so many resturants around to choose from. Breakfast buffet was great, food alway topped up nice and fresh. Loved the infinity pool watching the sunset. Rooms great size, bathrooms are beautiful. So pretty when the sunsets with all the lights in the garden. We found the staff very friendly and helpful.

Just got back from Bali and stayed the last 6 days at Pullmans, have to say it was fantastic! Very clean and the staff were brilliant. The day spa was delightful to say the least. Make sure you dont miss out on a booking and book ahead. They are always busy. Just loved it and so did my kids.

Dear JBC101,

We thank you very much for your few words on our Hotel.

All our Team worked hard to realize this very special project of ours: the Sembilan Restaurant. The fact that you do qualify its cuisine of superb is the best gratification they can get. The Sembilan indeed reinvent the Balinese Cuisine while being Eco Responsible as its motto is a ‘100 miles; a 100 smiles’ as all products are bought within a 100 miles to local communities. Something you do not find anywhere else in busy Legian indeed.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback.

I stay at Pullman Legian. the location and look of the hotel are very good from outside. Service upon check in was good but the lobby was very hot (no AC), disturbed by smokers and there is no Bali nuance in this hotel.
The bedroom is good at appearance, however, there clearly are some plumping problems in the bathroom with strong sewerage smells present, very bad smells.
The staffs are friendly, however 1 hour before check out time, cleaning service knock our door and said that he will check the usage of mini bar, how come ? also on check out, the front desk didn't give me the invoice, is it because i booked it as free night compliment as Accor membership ? while i got the invoice when i stay at Royal Beach seminyak.
The content package is not as big as the name.

Dear PV_Royal,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on TripAdvisor.

Our Hotel, following the concept of the Pullman’s brand, is indeed modern in its aspect and decoration, with some Balinese touches such as the uniforms or the opening last month our new Balinese Responsible Dining restaurant, the Sembilan.

I am sorry of you were inconvenienced by our daily MiniBar check as it is done in most hotels, including before check out, so they can report your consumptions directly to the Front Office, so your bill is ready for your departure.

Besides it is indeed as you mention an Accor standard to give an invoice upon departure, and I can only be led to think that as you room was complimentary maybe you had no other incidentals to be paid hence no invoice. Should it not be the case, please do not hesitate to send me an email with your name and date of stay and I will send you a copy of your final invoice.
We thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Just got back from a 12 nights stay at Pullman Legian. Initially I was quite impressed with the location and look of the hotel. Service upon check in was fantastic as we were able to check in early which was a bonus for us. We had a 2 bedroom suite with an impressive beach view. However, there clearly are some plumping problems in the bathroom with strong sewerage smells present. If possible, don't dine at the hotel's restaurant as the price is quite expensive for the quality of the food. Must say the creme brûlée was delicious though. Most of the staff are friendly enough, however on check out, we werent asked how our stay was and the bell boy didn't even assist us with loading luggage into car, he just left our luggage in the rain. As we were loading our luggage into the car, we were told by security to hurry up and move our car as there was a new customer.

Overall, it was a decent stay with the location being a highlight.
However, we won't be returning as there are many other hotels in Bali in the same area that offer a better price.

Dear Mish25,

Thank you very
We are glad to read you enjoyed the layout and view of our 2 Bedrooms Suite and as previously mentioned the issues we do have in some rooms are on the way to be solved as we are still in the process of renovating rooms. I nevertheless apologize that you encountered such a disagreement during your long stay.

Our new Food & Beverage Manager takes note of your comment regarding the pricing of our restaurant, as we are trying our best to combine some local and imported products and a 5* offer. We would like to highlight though that we have some offer like our Extravaganza Barbeque that offers local fresh seafood and imported meat, as a Buffet, which is priced at 24$ for instance.

Finally, we thank you for your enthusiastic comments regarding your arrival and I am sorry to read we failed to give you the same outstanding service when you departed. Rest assured that we will ensure that this shortfall in service do not happen again, especially in case of rain.
We thank you again for sharing your experience.

We stayed at The Pullman over Xmas and New year 2012. On arrival we were blown away by the beautifully manicured gardens and frist impressions of two bedroom suite were fantastic, however things deteriorated somewhat. The plan we viewed on line of the room had the two bedrooms separated by the living area with three bathrooms, but the twin room was at one end with the main bedroom in the middle and the communal area at the end so not alot of privacy, plus one bathroom and wardrobe less than we were expecting
We were notified by flight centre that refurbishments would be finished by October however they continued the entire stay with hammer banging and power tools being used throught the night one night, we put up with it thinking it surely would stop soon and eventually phoned reception and we were told that no maintenance was going on however wthin 10 minutes it had stopped. We couldn't sit on the garden view balcony as rooms were being refurbished in surrounding area with banging all day.
Air con in our room had to be investigated as the noice was excessive our aircon was changed to another system?? the noice reduced but effectiveness was diminished.
Room cleaning was not acceptable, we had toe nails on the wooden floor that weren't ours!!!
Room service food was cold!
The infinity pool was gorgeous some shade would have been good and a no smoking in the pool sign would have been appreciated as this is a disgusting habit.
When you work hard for your holiday and book and pay alot of money you expect a certain standard, we were disappointed with the pullman and won't be returning .
Oh and if you are expecting a beach similar to our Aussie beaches think again, the rubbish that is piled onto the beach stinks stray dogs roam the beach infrot of the hotel no one seems to be responsible for cleaning the fouling on the beach,
Hotel restaurant for evening meals we thought was good, good selection for brekfast buffet but a word of advice get to brekfast early otherwise you will have to wait for a table

Dear Mandy P,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your review for TripAdvisor readers.

We are glad to see that you appreciated our efforts in terms of decoration over the Xmas & New Year period, and that you had a first good impression of the resort. As it can be seen on our website the layout displayed of all rooms may vary depending on where the rooms are located. In the case of 2 Bedrooms Suite only the living room area may vary, all other in rooms facilities remaining the same.

As previously mentioned on this website we are currently upgrading our rooms to fix issues that have already been mentioned several times on this forum, and this includes the air conditioner whenever necessary. I will nevertheless review your comment of overnight work, as, as it can be seen on the notice which is placed in all rooms, the working hours are limited to day time only. We plan to have all rooms completed in the first trimester of this year in order to offer upgraded 5* facilities to our guests as soon as possible.
Finally no hotel has a private beach in Legian as those areas are handled directly by the Local Community. At this time of the year during the rainy season a lot of rubbish can be dragged from the sea and this is unfortunately above our control. Rest assured that as a part of Accor hotels Groups we do commit to protect the environment in which we manage our hotels, and we therefore implement an environmental program to minimize the waste within the hotel, increase staff awareness on such matters, and organize occasional beach cleaning activities.
We thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

As a seasoned traveller but first time visitor to Bali, we were very disappointed with this hotel. We do agree that the staff are very friendly, and willing to help, however, that is where the story ends for us. We stayed during, and after the lead up to Christmas, and for the most part, had challenges most days. I am not even sure where to begin. Wifi in the room was appauling to say the least, if you could connect. Our airconditioning was barely working and in the adjacent kids room, it was not working at all. We had a fan bought in, with no mention of changing us to another room. Meals were average, and the room service was so difficult to organise. We had drunk guests in the lobby, a naked, drunk girl in the roof top pool one morning and smoking in the lobby. I know smoking is permitted, however, it only adds to the disappointment, especially in a lobby that is very hot, overcrowded with guests checking in and checking out, and with front desk staff that are very slow. Management were difficult to get a hold of, therefore communicating with front end staff, often frustrating and exhausting. It is all very well to write that you feel people are being too harsh, but reality is that when people hand over their hard earned money in good faith, they expect a level of service and access to those services and amenities that is comparable. If you are going to charge 4/5 star rates, then you must provide 4/5 star service at the very least. Speaking English is a requirement, just as much as speaking Japanese. Most people are patient and understanding, and we all love the Balinese culture and friendliness, however, if you are providing a service, that level of service needs to be met and maintained. We enjoyed Bali and hope to return one day, sadly though, it wont be to this hotel.

Dez Jez s,

Thank you very much for your review on your recent stay over the Christmas period.

I am sorry to read that you faced inconvenience with you room and that you found it difficult to share your concerns with management at that time, and I apologize for the impact it had on your holidays. As mentioned in the past a full team is working of upgrading some of the hardware defects and this will be covering air conditioner repair when necessary. Besides, I would like to highlight that all management was on board from Xmas Eve through after New Year as this is the busiest period of the year for us, and I am sorry if this failed to be communicated to you properly when you asked to speak to a Manager.

We take note of your comments of encountering less behaved guests in the Hotel, which is unfortunately common through the festive period. We had extra Security in position through the all period, and all reported disturbance, mainly alcohol related, were solved without incident and remained minor.

Our Lobby is an open air area and it is authorized by law to smoke in such open Public space in Indonesia, and we therefore comply to the local legislation, even though we understand the discomfort caused to the non smoker, and I am sorry if this was your case. Rest assured that following the legislation all our closed Public Areas and the rooms are non smoker.

We thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.
