“WORST HOTEL EVER!!! OLD AND DIRTY”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

My husband and I went to Bali with a group of friends for a week. We normally stay at places like Legian Beach Hotel or Padma so when we in initially booked this hotel we weren't overly excited about the choice but seeing as we were holidaying with a big group and they usually stay here we went ahead anyway.

Where do i start with the list of problems wrong with this hotel...
Upon check in it all did not seem as professional like previously experience when in Bali. The hotel staff were advise we were in a big group and that we wanted to be close yet they positioned us all away from each other. We had friends complain the aircon didnt work and another complain there toilet didn't work, eventually after we all complained we all ended up on the same floor. We stayed in the superior, which was so old and run down it wasnt funny. The aircon was useless and barley pushed out any cold air. It was positioned in the most stupidest place and who knows when it was last serviced. I went to bed ever night so hot and did not get a decent nights sleep since i got there.

There was a pin stuck in the wall plug so we were unable to put adapter in. I call reception and advise them and they said they would have maintenance come look at it but no one showed.

Our bathroom smelt funny, NO pressure in the shower and felt like a dripping tap, the towels were so so old and felt like sandpaper. There were no face washers supplied, the toliet barley flushed(had to come back after 5 mins and reflush), there was bugs and ants in the bathroom all the time. The amenities were cheap. (2in1 shampoo/Conditioner)

The hotel guide, menu, box tv are all outdated and need to be upgraded. As well as the beds, blankets and pillows which were extremely uncomfortable.

All the rooms need to be renovated and even if that cant happen straight away they really need to upgrade what they can. You would be amazed at how a few little changes would bring the hotel back up to a 3 star standard. Start by servicing or replacing aircons and replacing towels/Linen. I may have been able to excuse the oldness of the rooms if these things were improved but at the moment this hotel is well below the 3 1/2 starts it acclaims to be.

Breakfast was an extreme disappointment. Very basic food. The whole set up did not look hygienic. I stuck to toast the whole time and i was devistated they did not even serve Vegemite. The coffee was gross as was the juice (didnt taste right), i figured i was stick to water that they had in a water cooler but it wasnt even plugged in so the water was warm. It was just used as a dispenser.

The staff didnt speak very good english and were not as helpful as experienced at previous hotels. They have no money ex changer at the reception and have no transport to and from hotel so we had to catch a taxi to airport.

This is not my idea of a holiday at all... although we enjoy ourselves being in a group i was extremely disappointed with the hotel that it didnt feel like the relaxation a hotel should feel like. I couldnt wait to get home and have a decent shower. I would never ever stay here again. Previous people say you get what you pay for but honestly this is way below what you pay for.
i have heard there are new owners and that they are letting in be run down and not keeping up on maintenance which seems likley.

So to sum it up i would never stay here again.. I believe for the price you pay there are defiantly better hotels to stay at, but from experience i wont be staying at anything under 4-5 star again. The quality and service of the 4-5 star hotels is so worth that extra money.

Hope the review helps someone looking to stay here :)

The staff knew we were getting married in bali and had this on our bed when we arrived, the location is great and the staff are amazing and so helpful and most of all trustworthy! The rooms are huge compared to something at a 5 star resort.

We returned on 9th February 2013 and were greated with hugs and kisses. Everything ready welcomed with open arms. One of the pools closed for maintenance as upgrading the swim up bar which will be better when completed.
Great to catch up with our friends Kath, Allen, Jamie and Natalee from WA. A great week.
Spent two weeks here and loved it. The rooms are clean but in need of upgrade. The staff are great - why we keep coming back. The convenience of everything within walking distance is the added attraction.

We stayed here with our 4 kids for 8 nights in a cottage. Yes, the rooms are dated and some of the towels are grey, but everything is clean, the location is great, and the service staff are excellent. Would certainly recommend this to budget conscious families.

I've stayed at the melasti twice and loved both times... I prefer the deluxe cottage accomodation as there is plenty of room, a patio and a massive bathroom with uninterrupted view of pool. The staff are absolutely the most wonderful people who go out of their way to provide anything you need to make your holiday better. The spa at the entrance to the resort is the best in Bali (I book in there even if staying elsewhere... great prices and pampering is the name of the game. The place is clean, welcoming and has all facilities but it is definitely the staff who make it... the room attendant on my last stay cut his hand badly while cleaning my room... he required medical attention... but even though his 'friend' came to complete the job the poor man felt it necessary to come and apologise for causing me a delay or any upset!!! By the end of the month i had even received an invite to his wedding!!! Can't get friendlier than that.

We booked a deluxe room for hubby and I, and our 5 year old son. The room was dated and well worn, but huge and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was also massive with a bath and seperate shower. Every day we were given 2 white, fluffy towels, and a smaller, worn grey/white one presumably for our son. Looks like they are beginning to upgrade linen. No complaints about the bed sheets. Breakfast was ok (more on offer than at home!) and it was nice to be looking out over the beach. The hotel has 3 pools and our favourite was the figure 8 pool with swim up bar. The other, larger pool also has a swim up bar which was closed due to renovations. I look forward to seeing it when it is finished. All the staff were polite and friendly. We had no complaints, but I am sure that if you did, they would be more than happy to do what they could to fix it. The cute squirrels in the garden are a cute bonus. Can't wait to come back again!

Room Tip: We had a deluxe room with a balcony on the 3rd floor overlooking the figure 8 pool. It was huge! Ai...

I booked a standard room originally but paid extra for an upgrade to superior.
I was given a room with no towels or drinking water. The bathroom is old and dirty as are the towels.
The mirror in the bathroom had dark red splotches all over it, but I convinced myself its not blood to save my own sanity.
The bathroom badly needs to be renovated.
The staff were always friendly and helpful. It was peaceful at night.
The wifi is available in public areas bit if I sit outside on the balcony I got a weak wifi signal.
