“Eat here. It's good.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We tried this Warung on trip advisor recommendation. We were staying in the near by Ramada Camakila, so 10 minute walk. We came for lunch one day, liked it so much we came back again. Good food, at a great price, served quickly in a clean and friendly environment. Don't need to say anymore really. Highly recommended.

“Best gado gado in Bali”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

As other reviewers have noted, this is a cheap local restaurant, no decor, no pretensions, and from what we have found on numerous visits, no food that isn't delicious! Their gado gado is the best I have been able to find so far in Bali, and the mie goreng is right up there at the top of the tree as well. Dishes are generously proportioned, and range at around the Rp 22,000 to 26,000 mark. Highly recommended as a cheap and cheerful way to sample local food at its best.

“Little gem in Legian”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

Fantastic local food at murah (cheap) prices. We will be back again to try some more delicious dishes. If coming from Jl Padma it is on the right hand side before you get to Three Brothers Inn :)

“Kare ayam (Chicken curry)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Their kare ayam, or chicken curry is my favourite dish. The nasi goreng is pretty decent too (serving is rather huge, 2 full bowls of rice worth). I found the soto ayam just average, but I have yet to find a soto ayam that I have liked.

Besides that, the prices are extremely reasonable, in the range of Rp 20,000-26,000 for the dishes I have mentioned. Expect it to be a simple eatery though.

When I went once, they had sold out of their kare ayam because someone had ordered 10 orders for take away, which goes to show the popularity of the dish.

“A favourite for a LONG time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

First recommend MANY years ago, when it was called the Green Door. Have visited multiple times each of our 25+ trips to BAli since......each serve of my favourite (chicken noodle soup) looks exactly the same as the visit before, I think Mama has a photo of each dish, and arranges each piece of ingredient precisely the same..lol.....in our experience, yes the price has snuck up to a whole $2, but the quality and serving size has remained the same......a great quality Warung meal at ay ridiculous price........Incidently,shortly after being introduced to "the Green Door" all those years ago, a travel show in OZ were visiting Bali, and a top Chef from the Sheraton (or some such place at Nusa Dua ), took the commentator to this hidden (not so much now) gem, and suggested that Mama's kitchen was as clean as at his......that was good enough(beside loving the food) to keep me going back......put it on YOUR list.......
