“Great value for the location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

I stayed here for 9 nights with friend. We hadn't book, we just walked in the day before we intended to stay. We actually spent two nights at the hugely over priced Legian Beach Hotel before moving to Sari Bunga and funnily enough, we enjoyed staying at this cheaper hotel far more.

It is located on Double Six (or jl Arguna), about 200m from the beach, just far enough that we couldn’t hear the music coming from the beach front bars and "clubs". There was a fair bit of construction noise while we were there as the road and footpath of Double Six was being redone during our stay but even that couldn't be heard from our room.

The hotel itself is great, with not too many rooms so it feels a lot more cosy and comfortable than the massive resorts. The "deluxe" rooms (cheapest room available) are pretty large with a generous bathroom. The only issues we had were that there was very minimal lighting in the room itself and there was very little ventilation in bathroom so it tended to get pretty hot and uncomfortable in there when showering etc. but otherwise it was everything we needed. And although we didn’t stay in one, the family rooms look like a really good option if travelling with more people, as they sleep 5 and have their own common/lounge area and balcony.

The grounds were lovely and the pool is quite nice, though it doesn't get a lot of sun in the afternoon. There is also the pool in the connecting hotel which is available to people staying at Sari Bunga however, I would avoid it as it’s dirty, and seems to be missing about a foot of water. The restaurant is good and very reasonably priced. Definitely try the Indonesian noodles for breakfast (which is included) and the Sari Bunga burger. I'm not big on eating western food when in Asia, but honestly, this is one of the best burgers I've had.

The people working at Sari Bunga were really lovely and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. It’s probably the best valued accommodation in the area and I can’t wait to go back!

Room Tip: The balconies are open, and people will walk past on their way to there own room, so try to get the...

After many stays around the Legian area at places like Kumala Pantai ....... I was recommended this hotel by fellow frequent visitors. At AUD$42 per night I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this little establishment. Sure, its been there a while and in area's can look a little 'worn' .......... but the overall service, cleanliness and convenience of this hotel makes it an excellent value for money play to stay. The rooms are quite large, the hot water & air-con all more than adequate. Food in the restaurant is fine and reasonably priced and the WIFI works as it should....and a short 200m stroll puts you on the sand.
The staff are wonderful (Thanks Sri) and really nothing is too much trouble! Would I stay there again? YES - matter of fact I am back there in 2 weeks time.

Room Tip: If your not a 'climb the stair' person avoid the top floor. Some rooms can get a little nois...

My friend and i intended only staying here for a couple of nights but ended up staying for 8 of our 12 days on holiday in bali in september. The location was perfect with bars and cafes within minutes walking distance and probably a ten minute walk to the main shops and restaurants, supermarkets, and banks. The beach was a five minute walk so made it really convenient.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was good and cheap so i ate a few meals here rather than having to go out to other places to eat.
We had a standard room which had all we needed and was always cleaned on a daily basis. For $25 nz each a night we got good value for our money which is why we stayed here for the duration of our holiday.
There is free wifi here but only in the restaurant so if it could have been accessed from the rooms it would have been perfect, otherwise really happy to have found this place. Will definately consider staying here next year.

Stayed here for 2 nights in August. If you are after good clean accomodation at a budget price but in a good location then this hotel is ideal.
Rooms are clean altho slightly dated but certainly fine for the price you pay. The staff are fantastically helpful and friendly. As a surfer the location was ideal with only a 150m walk out the door to end of the road to the beach. Plenty of shops and restaurants right out the door. Brekkie is basic but thats all you need in the heat. Nice big clean pool with sufficient no of chairs. Can rent a bike from reception or over the road. Going rate for the day is Rp 50,000. Big hotels being built all around but this is the norm for Bali at the moment.Family rooms are bigger. Not a huge amount of English speaking tv channels but who needs them really. One of my favourite restaurants in Legian is a 2min walk around the corner - Asia Warung. If you want a budget but clean and friendly hotel that is not too big but close to the beach then this is ideal.

Room Tip: Family rooms are bigger and mostly on ground floor close to pool

Whilst this is not the standard we would normaly use on our holidays it is very good budget accomadation.
stayed 10 nights at $40.00 au a night. The rooms are big and clean located on double6 beach end breaky suplied indo (nasi or mie) continetal (toast and fruit)the rooms have a balcony but not privite. The pool is clean and plenty of chairs.Staff are very friendly. we were there during ramadon so there were a lot of local familys staying there and the kids were up early swimming in the pool so that made it a bit noisy but they were on holidays too and enjoying them selfs.the room also had sealing fan as well as air con which we thought was great as we didnt need the air con at night just the fan.
would we stay there again YES

Stayed here in Aug for three nights with a group of friends. The price was so cheap for what get. The room, although basic had everything we needed, king sized bed, bathroom with separate bath and shower, aircon, fan, TV (didnt watch though) fridge (bottles of water on top were complimentry and replenished everyday) Everthing in the room worked and was very clean. The location is close to Seminyak and Legion beaches and within walking distance to many many bars, restaurants and shopping.
Now I am more of a five star traveller so for me to be writting a review this good for a 3ish star resort is saying something. If you want cheap no frills, just a place to crash thats safe and cheap then the Sari Bunga is for you!!

Room Tip: hire a scooter if you want to have a good look around.

The Hotel Sari Bunga is a pretty basic, Motel 6-like hotel. It's very clean and has a reasonably spacious bathroom. It has hot water, air conditioning, and a fan. The main thing that bothered me about the room was that there was a really musty, moist sort of smell, which was bothersome enough that I purchased incense to burn in the room. The lighting in the room was terrible, so it's definitely the kind of place where you just stay to sleep, not to lounge around or hang out. The pool was pretty dirty, but it's so close to the beach that you probably wouldn't be using it anyway.

At $30 a night, I can't complain and will probably stay here again the next time I'm in Bali.

The service at the hotel was pretty much non-existent. The staff was polite but seemed very lazy and could not be bothered to do anything. The restaurant looked terrible. I sat in it for 20 minutes once, and nobody bothered to even give me a menu. Fortunately, there are a lot of great places to eat within walking distance. There's a cafe just a couple of blocks down that does really good breakfast for under $2, with delicious coffee and juice. I can't remember the name of it, but when you exit the hotel, turn right, and it's on the right side of the street (same side as the hotel), and there's a big sign with an ice cream cone in the front. They also have really good homemade gelato.

The location is the best part of this hotel. It's in Legian, which is between Kuta and Seminyak. It's on Jalan Double Six (AKA Jalan Arjuna), and all the taxi drivers knew where it was. From the hotel, it's about a five to seven-minute walk to the beach. If you turn left, you can walk to Kuta, and it takes about 20-30 minutes to walk to the main road there. If you turn left, it's about a 15-minute walk (very pleasant) to Seminyak. The beach by the hotel was reasonably clean, but it gets cleaner the further north you go (towards Seminyak).
